Celtics-Clippers

Post#1 » by Jimmy103 » Wed Jun 24, 2009 2:05 am

Everyone wants to ship Rajon out of town, but here's 1 scenario I haven't heard. The Clippers are pretty well set at big man, if they could get a franchise PG in return and get out from under BDiddy's deal, would they?

Rajon Rondo/Ray Allen
for
#1 (Blake Griffin)/Baron Davis/Ricky Davis/fillers

The Clippers could entice LeBron in 2010 with a starting lineup of:

PG- Rajon Rondo
SG- Eric Gordon
SF- Al Thornon
PF- Zach Randolph
C- Chris Kaman/DeAndre Jordan

Meanwhile the Celtics do pretty well for themselves and are still the class of the East

PG- Baron Davis
SG- Paul Pierce
SF- Blake Griffin
PF- Kevin Garnett
C- Kendrick Perkins

I like our starting 5 and want to keep them together... but IF we are going to make a major trade: Ray/Rondo for Davis, Camby and #1 - is a good deal.

Maybe we can make it a three team deal and see if we can't entice Cleveland to give up Lebron for a pack of expiring deals while we're at it.

Wow, is Blake Griffin really on LeBron's level? If Miami had a pretty bad contract they wanted to dump, would they really puke at Beasley/long-term deal dump?

I've heard rumors of the Clippers considering moving down for Rubio due to the Zach/Camby/DeAndre/Kaman 4-some they have already assembled. I think Baron Davis would be a solid role player at the PG, he would almost have to conform to the Big Three of Pierce-KG-Perkins

Blake Griffin could start out at SF and slide into the PF position as KG graduates from the Celtics. That's an impressive front court duo for years to come Griffin/Perkins.
