Roster Breakdown (Post Trade)

Roster Breakdown
PG: Telfair, Brown
SG:
SF: Gomes, Brewer, Cardinal
PF: Jefferson, Love, Smith, Songalia, Madsen
C: Thomas, Pecherov
12 Players

Draft Picks:
5,6,18,28,45,47

We have room for 3 of the 6 picks currently.
Something tells me we drop a roster spot or a draft pick (or 2) in a memphis trade.

lol, our only guards are Telfair and Bobby Brown. Hopefully that means Rubio and Henderson!

We have a huge hole at SG, maybe wayne ellington makes sense there now?
But if you're gonna have a hole, SG is by far the easiest one to fill.

Love, gomes, smith, brown, 6, 18 (austin daye)
for:
2 (thabeet), rudy gay, jaric, 27

Draft Evans/Rubio at 5, ellington at 28.

I'm starting to buy that rev was truthful in his thabeet love.

Brewer can play the 2. Can't imagine he'll start, what with his <expletive deleted> shot and coming off an injury, but we're not empty there.

Just posted this in another thread, but it seems like it has to be:

1 - #5or6/Telfair/Brown
2 - #5or6/Brewer
3 - Gomes/Brewer/Cardinal
4 - Love/Smith/Songaila/Madsen
5 - [Jefferson]/Thomas/Pecherov

Meaning, to me, Smith, Madsen, Cardinal, #18, #28, #45, #47 have to somehow be turned into 2 pieces, one of which is a starting SF and one of which is a backup 2. Even if we draft Euros with #45 and 47, that's still turning 5 pieces (and a reasonable chunk of salary) into 2.

Cookie would be fairly movable for a pick in the 20's, which could be packaged with the 18 to move up a few slots and open a roster spot.

I was going to get tickets for Wilco tonight but crap I'm not going to be able to constrain my desire to chart out our roster/draft possibilities. 19 pieces now. wow. As long as no 5/6 for 2 this is going to be a fun next couple of days. :)~~~~~

My dream is that Memphis takes Rubio, and Thabeet convinced the Thunder to take him. Then it's just a matter if the Kings liked Curry, Jennings, or Flynn enough to leave us with a Harden and Evans backcourt.

I desperately hope to wait until the 5th pick before deciding to make a move. Then we package #18 and #28 to move up high enough to get Earl Clark, maybe #13?

C - Jefferson/Thomas
PF - Love/Smith/Songalia
SF - Clark/Gomes
SG - Harden/Brewer
PG - Evans/Telfair

That's rather sexy. We still have Madsen, Cardinal, Thomas, Opec, and Smith as expirings that can be moved for another big name front court player to complete the three man rotation.

Frontcourt - Jefferson/Love/TRADE
SF - Clark/Gomes
Backcourt - Harden/Evans/Brewer/Telfair

9 man rotation.

I guess this means Shelden Williams ain't coming back. I was hoping they would hang onto him.
We need Carney now but have absolutely zero room for him on the roster.

I'm going to have to do some research on Pecherov he's still young guy (23).

Trimming Foye (26) and Miller (29) for the #5 makes our core even younger.

Not sure if Evans is a PG, but Harden and Evans are the two players I covet, so that's definitely a nice roster.

I like Harden and Evans too but I get the feeling that Thabeet/Evans is what he has in mind.
Oklahoma is more than likely going to nab either Harden or Thabeet and one of those two plus
Evans will probably be our bounty.

Just as long as we don't combine the 5 & 6 to move up, I think I will be content with the results.

If we don't trade for 2, I would love a backcourt of Harden and Evans. But I think we will trade Love and 18 for the number 2 and Rubio....

I think the point of acquiring the #5 was to avoid trading Kevin Love.

Perfect senario is:

Love for Rubio straight up:

Rubio/Telfair
DeRozan/Brew/Jermaine Taylor (28)
Gomes/Daye (18)
Hill/Craig Smith
Al Jeff/Thomas

I don't see how that is perfect. I'd much rather have Kevin Love than Jordan Hill or DeMar DeRozan.

it's not or, it's both.

Meaning is Demar Hill/Jordan DeRozan >>> Kevin Love? I say yes. Plus the athletism is nice with Rubio.

i think this all means we'll make another deal. with all the bodies we have now, and the prospect of more coming in, someone has to go. I'm sure there will be a cut or a trade again soon. Madsen/Cardinal are probably the first to go along with one of the later picks. and i'm sure at least one of the picks will be for a Euro to stash away a year or two.

I'm not a fan of Love for the #2 but I fear that may be coming next. Today's trade made us suspiciously heavy with front line guys now.

I'd be alright with a Jefferson/Thabeet/Love front court. I think that would work decently.
Love is probably best served in a McHale type 6th man super sub anyway.

I agree that the #5 was picked up so we wouldn't have to trade Love. Al Jefferson is coming back from an injury and it would be unwise to unload our other double double machine until we know that Al Jeff is coming back 100%. Value wise, 6 / 18 and another asset (maybe Smith), should be enough to move up to 2.

With Foye now gone, I think Harden has surpassed Thabeet as our #2 target with Evans as the back up plan.

I don't know about that. A decent center is infinitely harder to find than a decent shooting guard. Not that I am saying either player is limited to being "decent" but if we got one, we would presumably be hunting for a player in the "decent" range at the other position to fill out the rotation.
