The more I think about it, I would hate to give up Ray but would love Stuckey and Prince (mostly Prince) in place of Rondo if we could do that straight up...I'd rather have Ray than Hamilton...

Either way this is a non-issue as it's not gonna happen...

Because you would become '08-'09 Pistons with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Kendrick Perkins. You would be adding 3 players who have come up in one of the class organizations in the league the last 5 years living in the Conference Finals, NBA Finals, and winning a title. The Boston Celtics would be the deepest team in the NBA and have a championship core that extends another 4 or 5 years.

The funny thing about this deal being leaked and disregarded is that it is a good move for both sides. There was a recap about it on Yahoo sports. The Pistons will likely regret not making it.

I think that we need to realize that whether Boston resigns Rondo or not unless a super star player is developed or acquired for this team, and probably two, he is going to be dealt away in a rebuilding process. He is not the guy that is going to anchor a championship team at his present skill level.

If we could trade Rondo for Tayshaun and Stuckey, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but I know Ray's $$$ is needed to make the contracts work...

I happen to feel the same about Phoenix. The talk out here is that Stoudemire is as good as gone anyway (along with Shaq and possibly Nash). The Stoudemire/Barbosa/14 pick for Allen/Rondo was more speculation on the local radio guys' part, but is the type of deal that I could see going down. They love Rondo out here.

I'm not really that psyched about that either, but if a trade involving Amare ever went down, Rondo would definitely have to be in the discussion.
That being said, the Celtics aren't that far from #18 as it currently stands. They still won 62 games last season with all the key injuries they had. They just need talent on the bench. And by talent, I don't mean Mikki Moore.

Nope, I just think that we would be an all around better team. We need to make a move or two to bolster our bench. Scalabrine, Pruitt, Tony Allen etc aren't going to cut it next season.

The words Mikki Moore and talent are mutually exclusive and should never be used in the same sentence...
