Cowboys sign Tank Johnson...

Post#1 » by studcrackers » Tue Sep 18, 2007 8:43 pm

Per ESPN the Cowboys have come to terms with Tank Johnson on a 2 year deal, he's eligible to join the team after there 8th game or after week 8.

thoughts on this? and if bears fans want to chime in is he good against the run b/c thats my main concern, also his pass rushing skills.

He sure can play, but I doubt he keeps himself out of trouble.

Overrated, but he's a decent pickup.

He was good in the playoffs, though. If he can play like he did then throughout the season, he'd be huge.

Indeed. He's an active widebody and I think he can anchor as a 1-gap NT just fine, probably better than Ferguson. But Tank doesn't always seem to go 100% and conditioning might be more of an issue now than it already has been.

He's well worth the risk IMO--low price tag, proven playoff performer, fresh body coming in when the regulars are game-worn. And that team has handled miscreants well in the past.
