Ford Chat

Post#1 » by granger05 » Wed Jun 24, 2009 5:52 pm

We're mentioned in the latest Chad Ford CHAT which is live right now.

Cory (Indy)

Chad do you see David Morway and The Legend making any moves?
Chad Ford

Haven't heard anything specific out of Indiana, but they do have a one pretty coveted chip .. Jeff Foster. And believe it or not a number of GMs around the league are really warming up to Troy Murphy after his stellar season last year. So they have some chips if they want to make a deal.

If the team wants to trade Murphy, now would be the time.

Thats for sure, but at this point do we want to trade him, and if so to who. I mean we would need a PF, and trading pf for pf doesnt seem likely.

I never understood why we gave Jeff an extension but I'd trade Jeff or Troy is we could either get a high enough pick to guarantee a big or if a big we liked dropped to 13. Jeff should play for the Fever because none of them can hit a lay-up either.

I don't think the Pacers would trade Murphy because they don't want him or don't need him, but I think they'd do it to shed his contract for some relief, if maybe a nice young player or a draft pick came along too.

Just shows what a year Murph had, this time last year talk of him being a trade chip would have been laughable.

It certainly makes sense to trade Murphy both financially and on the court for an athletic big, however I find myself secretly hoping he stays.

trade while hot...might as well..dont want to have to trade him away like j.o. remember when we were rumored to get t-mac...granted he is also injury prone but just shows the calliber of player we could get...not necessarily t-mac type but a solid nba starter in return
