Phoenix Interested In T.J. Ford?

Post#1 » by BringinDaRuckus » Wed Jun 24, 2009 11:22 pm

Just more Rumors I am sure, but seeing what the rest of the board feels.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... &type=lgns

The Indiana Pacers are discussing trading point guard T.J. Ford with several teams, league sources say, including the Phoenix Suns.

No other details.
Looking forward to the 28-29 season.

With them having Granger, Dunleavy, Rush, and Daniels, really doubt they need anymore wingmen...
Looking forward to the 28-29 season.

BS. Incidentally, Sam Presti confirms the OK rumor is bogus.

I would LOVE to have TJ Ford on this team. He would be very good in an up-tempo system because he's so fast.

TJ + Foster for JRich makes sense for us. Backup for Nash to split minutes + backup for Shaq or just a big who can play even if we trade Shaq.

one thing seems to stick out

IF we somehow do get next years pick back from OKC - still seems likely to me regardless of what presti said, then we are clearly going to blow up and aim for the lottery next year

meaning amare gone, shaq gone nash gone - so TJ would be a likely target to replace nash as PG for the interim.....

I really dont want Ford here...if you're going to go that route you're better getting Flynn or Lawson and re-sign Nash for a couple of years

I would much prefer to draft a point guard rather than acquire Ford. He is injury prone and a defensive liability.

I'm fine with those 2, but if it's just Sasha and Wallace then I am giving up on this FO officially. This summer will determine whether or not I take a steel toed boot to Kerr's testies.

Knowing Sarvers history, if they pass on Wallace and Sasha for Shaq - the deal will be worse to get rid of Shaq and will have longer cap ramifications.

Or better yet, they will trade Barbosa for a 2nd round draft choice to move the cash

Suns don't have leverage - be careful what you wish for. If I am the Suns, unless I can use Amare to get salary dump contracts in conjunction with moving Shaq for a Chandler Stojakovic lets say - then Shaq is the best choice to use to alleviate the luxury tax and cap problems.

Return to Phoenix Suns
