Jennings got a promise?

Post#1 » by AQuintus » Thu Jun 25, 2009 7:11 am

Guy from Rube Chat wrote:Just got a late night text from my buddy in the know and he says Jennings has a promise from the Wolves at 5 or 6 (assuming Rubio doesnt fall to 5). The other pick apparently will go to Evans or Harden.

I am shocked to hear the Jennings thing, but I trust my guy he has been spot on before (he told me about the McCants trade and several other versions of it to other teams a while ago).

Jennings. Really. I dont know if I am excited about this.

Add to this the recent Draftexpress article about Jennings telling people close to him that he's going to the Wolves at 5, there might actually be something here. :dontknow:

If we can't have Rubio, I think we gotta take Jennings.

I do like Jennings a lot, but at 5 or 6 I thought it would be to high for him...

Outside of Griffin and Rubio he probably has the most upside of anyone in the draft.

If we cant get Rubio I am all for it as well. A part of me even thinks he is the better pick but thats a small part of me.

A Jennings/Harden back court is ok by me. MIght even be able to sell me on a Jennings/Evans duo.

5 or 6 may be to high I agree, I thought the initial tradeup scenario to 15 may have been to aquire jennings. I'm not sure you can pass on harden or evans @ 6.

Not long to go

Once upon a time guys like Rev only had four posts, too. Does that mean that he doesn't have his informants, a hot wife to bench press, and a swimming pool full of cash?

Isn't Jennings building a rep for crap attitude? We don't need that.

I think I'd rather have Stephen Curry, even though he kind of has an attitude.
Jennings didn't exactly have good stats in europe.

More insider information from the same individual.

What? I'm really questioning the validity of all of this.

Jennings doesn't make sense to me, I've never seen those types of players on the recent championship teams

That's just some punk spreading a b.s. rumor. He probably read DX and then thought he'd try to look cool on twitter.

I think he is going to be the biggest dropper in the draft. Jennings himself has been waivering about appearing in the green room cause even he doesn't know where he stands. Nobody is even discussing him as an option until you get out of the lottery. If Kahn was thinking about him he could easily get him in the 15-18 range. No need to waste a top six pick on him. I hope we avoid him altogether.

I think we will pick two from Evans/Harden/Curry 5 & 6. If we are targeting any PG not named Rubio, Evans or Curry, I'd rather see us trade ahead of Indy and grab Lawson or target Calathes with a later pick. I'd also take Flynn, Holiday, Maynor and Teague over Jennings as well.

in theory it's possible but let's do a quick reality check: we're talking about Rev. when Rev signed here he was rewarded 10000 posts right off the spot.

I could see that happening. Not liking it, but somewhat realistic. Could also be part of a package deal where we pick for someone else?
