Evans to the Wolves at 18 is a shock when there has been talk on the boards of selecting him at our pick or that he may be gone before they have the chance to select him. I would be shocked if he slid that far. Then I would do a jig, I don't know how to dance the jig, but I would learn...

Toronto would not pass up Evans because of his ability to run the O while Calderon spots up.

Re: 2009 Mock - Update May 25th on Page 4
James Johnson to the Raptors? The absolute last thing we want is another jumpshooting finesse PF. If for whatever reason we took a PF, we'd surely opt for Hill because at least he provides toughness and rebounding and would seem to be the BPA at 9. Or at the very least Blair before Johnson.
But seriously, the last time we didn't pick a PF or C in the draft was 2002. If we draft another one, let alone a stretch at 9 like Johnson, I'm killing a kitten.
And I have a very hard time seeing Henderson fall past the Bobcats if he's available by then. He's way too perfect a fit for Brown and as Bell's future SG replacement

WOW! If the Wolves pull that out on draft day I will jizz EVERYWHERE!! DeRozan AND Evans without making any trades?

I think Johson will wind up like a Danny Granger, LaPhonso Ellis or Wilson Chandler. A small forward that can play the 4. Just thought that would really sew up your frontcourt, with:
SF Johnson
PF Bosh
C Bargs
I also felt he was basically BPA with the exception of Hill, but he is a flatout PF who could play some backup minutes as a very undersized center, so it didn't make much sense. I could see Toronto picking Evans there for sure though.
I could also see Henderson in place of Williams for the Charlotte pick, but I am thinking Brown wouldn't take a Duke guy, especially when the other option is a legit size for a SG or SF and does everything Henderson does, just better, with the exception of scoring. If you think I am a little crazy with the Duke thing, I would tell you, I think Larry Brown is a little crazy with the being crazy thing, lol.

There's no way Petrie picks Jennings @ #4

Henderson won't fall past the Bobcats or the Pacers (that will need a wing to backup Rush and Granger until Dunleavy comes back). Henderson is very good defensively and he's going to be able to defend NBA PGs; I think GMs will value that.
I'd like to see Hill falling to 10th, but it's not happening.

The last thing Indianna needs is another wing player. They need a point guard, a center or a power forward. Earl Clark is very capable at power forward. On top of that, he's pretty much BPA at that point.
Hill falling to 10th is a very real possibility. Unless teams start viewing him as a true future star prospect, or unless he gets taken earlier and traded, the only team he makes much sense to is NY. Memphis isn't taking him at 2, Minny is not taking another power forward, Golden State is not taking him, ditto with OKC, Sacto, nor Toronto. I guess Washington could take him, but if Harden is there, I think he is the pick and I think there's a good chance they trade out of that pick.
Again, I could easily see a team taking him and then trading him, but I am not going there in my mocks yet, not until we here some legit rumors and rumblings coming out closer to draft day.

Marquis is a goner, nobody really knows when will Dunleavy Jr. come back from his surgery (or, by that matter, if he ever will). They'll need to find a backup to Rush/Granger even if they retain Jack; the draft is a good way of doing it. And Henderson is the kind of player Bird appreciates.
Good points about Hill falling.

I can't imagine Tyreke Evans falling that far, but if he does, that's some insanely good value for the Wolves.

I was just going on the assumption that both those picks would be going to Memphis for the #2 and either Conley, Arthur and the 27th or future pick, or Gay going to Minnesota.

Re: 2009 Mock - Update June 24th on Page 6
Alright. This is it. This is my final, albeit highly unanticipated mock. I am going to try and tackle the 2nd round, but it's likely to look more like an illegal hit that doesn't get flagged.
I don't know what to make of this draft. There are still likely to be so many trades with a lot of jockeying for position and the lotto was no lock without them.
I don't know who's trading for Rubio, but I am still assuming it's going to be Memphis taking him with Minnnesota involved in some facet, so I am not necessarily picking for the team picking, lol.
It's too late to do explanations I think, because the VC trade occupied my last hour.
Oh well, here we go.

Why you ask? Why would Nellie play him? Rumors are Beidrins is likely to be headed to Phoenix as the centerpiece of a trade for Amar'me. They'll need a center, dude is probably has too much potential to pass up if they need a center. If it ain't him or the trade includes the 7th pick to the Suns, you can literally flip flop this pick with the Knicks pick.
