Since the CAVs didn't have to give up any of their core players to get Shaq...I am good with it.

Yes, Shaq isn't what he used to be---but I look at keeping him fresher (with the CAVs) limiting his minutes to about 30 like the CAVs have for 'Z' who will go into a back-up role filling out the remaining minutes. This trade for Shaq is only a piece of the puzzle...not the entire off season for the CAVs.

I have to laugh real hard at those stating this is a bad deal or that Shaq won't help much. The CAVs still have more moves to make this off season. There is a lot of talk of the CAVs pick up more draft picks for tonights draft as well as being active in free agency which leaves me shaking my head about some arrogant fans from other teams down playing an initial move from a team that won 66 games last season which wasn't by accident.

I would like to see all our efforts put into Charlie Villanueva right now. Because I think he would be great at this stage. To be able to score inside all the way to the 3pt line. Grab a decent number of rebounds and is 6'11". His production per 40 is right under Bosh and Amare but he will cost half as much. If we still want Bosh he would be a perfect trading piece but for his production it may just pay to keep him at that point. And use the money on other pieces.

And I will say again LLE on Grant Hill. Easily will be our best pick up.

Shaq deal actually involves the 2010 2nd rounder, and the Cavs still have #46, FWIW.

Awesome trade for you guys, I have no doubt Shaq will be a positive impact on the team...as someone else said, if we're looking at a Cavs-Lakers Finals next year, we're talking EPIC

But what's this I hear about the Magic getting VC??? Talk about tipping the balance, it's been a cool couple of days.

Shaq will clog up the middled, and make it even easier to double team LeBron on his drives, he will committ stupid fouls and miss key free throws in the fourth quarter.

The ball will be in LeBron's hands even less, which is not a good thing for this team. Shaq has had a great career, but is worse for this team at this point than Wallace...which isn't saying much. At least Wallace didn't take shots away from LeBron. Just my opion guys. I think a Gasol type player with a mid range jumper would have been a better fit.

First of all, we won 66 games last season and Wallace and Pavs didn't have much to do with our success.. Adding Shaq would only make things scarier for opposing team (regardless of age), and he will make things much easier for LeBron. Shaq never clogged the middle for Kobe or Wade.. If LeBron gets doubled, that will lead to an open man in the paint or out on the perimeter. However, I can agree that Shaq may be a little foul prone, but I really don't think he will be playing much in the 4th.. If he does, he will makes his free throws when it matters, like he says.

Wallace didn't take any shots away from LeBron... However, when he was on the floor, it was like playing 4 vs. 5 on offense. He is clearly not the player he was back in his Detroit days.. With a presence in the paint like Shaq, this will lead easier buckets for both teams, especially when he is a great passer in the post.
