Real GM Jazz Board Draft Blog

Post#1 » by JDubJazz » Thu Jun 25, 2009 11:01 pm

No thread yet, so I thought I'd get one started. Its been a crazy week of trades and moves, though none by our Jazz (surprise, surprise).

All I can say, Is I pray we don't draft yet another stiff who couldn't create their own shot playing against a fourth grader (Sam Young, anyone?). Come on Jazz brass, lets see what you are made of. I would like to see the Jazz draft

1. Jeff Teague
2. Brandon Jennings if he slips
3. Tyler Hansbrough
4, Dejaun Blair
5. BJ Mullens

I figure whoever we get isn't going to contribute much this season anyway, so I leaned toward potential.

Stern is on the podium spouting off about these "great" young players. Time will tell.

5:34 PM
Stern congratulates the Lakers twice (He can barely contain his glee). NY boos. All of a sudden I like Knicks fans.

LA Clippers Select blake Griffin. My condolences to his ACLs.

Now the Draft gets interesting. Are the Grizzlies picking for themselves or for someone else?

The Memphis Grizzlies select Hasheem Thabeet. Wow a tall guy with no offensive game. No way that can back fire on them. At least we have no worries about the Grizzlies contending any time soon.

The team formerly known as the Seattle Supersonics is on the clock.

Not-the-Sonics select James Harden. I think he could be a sleeper ROY pick. OKC is about two years away from being really scary.

Suckramento is on the clock.

David Lock picks Harden as the ROY. I just want it on record that I had that call first!

With the 4th overall pick, the Sacramento Kings select Tyreke Evans. Dude was the driver for a drive by shooting commited by his cousin. How is he not in jail? I hate that pick, especially with Curry on the board.

The Timberwolves are now on the clock for the next two picks. Its amazing how good things happen when you fire Kevin McHale. Rubio and Curry are both on the board, so the Wolves could be getting exponentially better. The Northwest division is loaded folks!

Wolves really lucked out with this. Rubio at that slot is nice when they were trying to trade up for him.

The Wolves use the #5 Pick (from the Wiz) on Ricky Rubio. Wow, I think Rubio stole Koufos' nose. I hate to be around him if he had a head cold. Seriously though, the kid was a stud during the Olympics and he's gonna make Jefferson much better.

The Wolves are still on the clock.

I've even heard rumors that the cousin is actually taking the fall for him. Either way, dude should be locked up, not getting ready to sign a six figure contract.

Minnesota selects Jonny Flynn. I smell a trade, because Curry should have been this pick.

The Warriors are on the clock.

When the Warriors take Hill, I bet Mike Dantoni is RUNNING to the phone to call in the Stefan Curry pick.
