I have to admit, those highlights of Rubio made him look pretty amazing. But I can't say I can tell whether (and especially when) he'll turn into a player that could have helped the Wizards win big. And I don't see how we could have developed him without sacrificing our chances of winning now.

Forget Rubio. We got our squad already.

I know it's been said a million times -

Jennings = Marbury 2.0, for better or worse

A lot of teams in the east have gotten better from the trades. I hope we can keep.

yet to be seen. my problem is if we took rubio, we wouldnt have this ridiculous log jam at guard positions. rubio would be a better back up then foye imo and this would allow minutes for dmac and nicky young still

How on earth would Rubio have been a better backup than Foye? Rubio has absolutely no jump shot and will get absolutely pasted by your average NBA guard.

Rubio is a project with ridiculous potential, but you're fooling yourself if you think that a playoff caliber team could get any reasonable production out of the kid.

Foye is heads and shoulders above Rubio at this stage and will be for the next 2 to 3 years minimum.

** edit **

not sure what happened here, meant to quote a different post. Board is really wonky right now.

I think Rubio's hyped and not ready, but the dude is 18 and has already started in the Olympic Finals.

Saying that he won't be better than guys 7 and 8 years older than him, who he's possibly already better than is something I disagree with.

At the very least having the rights to Rubio is worth a lot.

how can you guys get upset at EG? Rubio may be the real deal but half of the stuff he does looks no different than from what white chococlate did. He's also only 18 and plays the same exact position as your franchise player. Dont give me that stuff about Gil not being a PG either. He's a totally different player then he was 3 years ago. Ever since he 1st got hurt you could tell that he saw the team winning without him and decided to pass more when he came back. Add to that he's now playing with way more scorers then he's ever played with so it should be easy. I also hear some on here talk about if EG wouldve waited then he couldve got more for Rubio. However, what about the flip side? What if EG had waited and Rubio went 2nd? Minny couldve easily had said that we dont want to get to #5 now since Rubio is gone or they couldve traded with someone else. You cant take that risk if you really think Miller & Foye can help you now. You guys are looking at this so backwards. There is a reason why so many GM's and National media people love this trade for the Wiz. For some reason our fans and local media cant get it

The fact that Rubio fell to five says to me there were sufficient questions as to whether or not he was going an impact player in the league. I would have preferred swapping the pick for Rudy than what we got, but my guess if Minny would make that deal if its on the table (and it doesnt seem to be).

The fact that Harden and Evans were off the board actually makes me think that EG did the right thing trading the pick as opposed to the wrong one. You can't take RUbio and just hope to trade him when you have the needs that the Wiz have/had.

I think it's hateful to laugh at a guy who gets his hopes crushed on the biggest night of his life.

Don Nelson already has Monta Ellis, Anthony Morrow, and CJ Watson on his roster. Nellie ruined the development of Marco Belinelli. Nellie ran Baron Davis out of GSl. Nellie is not a nice guy from stuff I've read.

Curry really got screwed tonight. GS isn't winning anything and he's in the worst place possible among the teams that could have selected him.

What about Curry says he deserves that?

Curry is going to get paid millions and gets to live in the bay area. I don't think I'll pity him for having to put up with Don Nelson.

I think a lot of the worries about Rubio were contract related.

Bust pick of the night goes to Indy!

Tyler Hansbrough...LMAO!

With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
