Anyone else nerding out?

Post#1 » by jazzfan1971 » Thu Jun 25, 2009 9:47 pm

I'm having one hell of a time today. Refreshing message boards, listening to sports talk on the radio, following blogs.

I'm a total basketball nerd today and loving every minute.

I am too, this is great, lots of movement in the league the past few days. VC going to the magic, Shaq, good stuff. Now if the jazz would make a few moves......

I'm checking in periodically but the work network is pretty restricted. The worst part is I'm going out with my wife and friends for dinner and watching Transformers. It was scheduled before I realized that is draft night. Oh well...

Now Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett die, we have a near tornado just now outside work...shaping up to be a crazy day!!

I am updating my mock about every 20 seconds (viewtopic.php?f=38&t=918108), it will probably be way off now that I am not going so much with my gut. I think I need to get a life....

Draft or no draft, watching Transformers sounds like a terrible evening.

Yep. In fact I'm so nerded out today that I took the afternoon off. I can't remember a draft day this crazy in ages. It makes me think the draft itself is going to be a sleeper. I have very little hope that the Jazz will get a good player (I fear Sam Young) but it won't stop me from being totally engrossed.

This day is why I am a RealGM poster and not a poster at a different site. I have been an NBA draft nerd since the Jazz took Blue Edwards.

All the crazy draft stuff and all the celebs dying (thoughts and prayers to Michael Jacksons family and Farah Fawcetts family) makes for an interesting afternoon.

It is crazy and exciting but not quite as much as it was when we drafted Deron. Which is also how I found realgm. I googled draft rumors to see what the jazz might be doing in the draft and I found this website. Joined and loved almost every minute of it.

New reports say that Michael Jackson is not dead, but is in a coma.

Sounds just as bad.

Go JAZZ!!! - My pick is for Taj GIbson

No, he's dead. Some are just being more hesitant about reporting it.

And yes, I'm nerding out on the draft. Unfortunately I've got an Ultimate game tonight so I'll miss most of it.

Well... work is killing me almost every day at almost every hour... but as I'm allowed a great deal of autonomy I can manage free spurts here and there... though I prefer the other half, campus related tasks, about 50% of my job is in front of a computer (at the office or at home)...

The real MJ has been dead since 1989, but that's besides the point.

I want Hansborough or Casspi. (unless someone else drops below my expectations, but then--- why did they drop????)

Thabeet to Memphis. Does this just add an exclamation point on how bad the Gasol deal was?

I have two Realgm pages open, 2 draft pages open, one of the mock drafts, one of the actual draft, a streaming video of ESPN, and David Locke's blog/radio show.

Love it.

That is just about where I was, and in the last two days I have added about 100 posts (probably 60 today)......
