Damn we don't even have camp fodder to joke about, none of these guys were going to make it anyway. Might as well spare them the pain of actually thinking they had a chance.

They made 4.5m out of the draft and skipped having to pay a total of 2m including the luxury tax for that pick's salary. Not a bad day making 6.5m to re-sign your players.

Who knows we may be able to off someone yet.

Yup. They made around $4.5 million to resign our free agents, probably saved us around $1.5 million in luxury tax, and we get two future second round draft picks (New York and Miami) for a first round draft pick and a second round draft pick in a weak draft. Good job Mitch :D

Can someone explain why teams would pay so much for a end of the 1st round and middle of 2nd round pick in a weak draft..

Either the GMs are over paying the Lakers a team that could ill afford to sign any 2nd round picks... leave alone the 1st round pick.. this would have given lot of teams bargaining abilities...

Only reasoning i can draw is Heat and Knicks are crazy..

Look at the Knicks deal.. kicks pay 3 million plus another 1 million = 4 million for a player who may get no PT in the 1st year..

Heat's deal.. Heat pay 1.5 million for a pick they may waive after the summer league..

Can someone explain this lunacy...

I found that draft so boring this year since the Lakers had no 1st round pick. But Mitch quietly had a great draft day without even making a significant pick.
Thank you, Phil.
