This is ever so true CX44, offense wasn't the Magic problem. Rebounding and defending was the main problem.

Someone said it earlier, these teams are starting to look like all star rosters, and we all know how chemistry is with those.

I am happy with our team and more importantly with our chemistry. We have had the same core for almost two years now, we know how to play together and all we need are a couple of touches here and there. Let them do the big trades.

I would personally be more worried if they resigned Hedo and added solid, defensive role players, but maybe that's just me.

Turk going to Portland is going to be a big problem for us. They are young and good. Now they'll add a veteran. :-?

The ball moves well with Turkoglu on the floor. But then again, the playmaking and smarts they lose in Turkoglu will be compensated for by Jameer Nelson's brilliance, I guess.

This move will make Orlando's starting five much more versatile and offensively potent, but it makes their bench quite a bit weaker, and it definitely doesn't address their defensive deficiencies.

SVG will probably have his starters log excessively heavy minutes, and I'm not sure for how many more seasons VC can do that without picking up injuries come spring time.

I'm not sure if this was the smartest move by Orlando, considering depth and defense. It'll look flashy and they'll win games in dominating fashion when he's healthy and happy, but watch out when he and SVG disagrees or he gets injured a few months into the new year.

There won't be enough depth on that bench to take it all the way, I think. Unless their starters stay remarkably healthy for the entire season, I don't see them going to the finals next year. Boston is a much deeper team, and Cleveland won't exactly be a push-over either.

I'd say they would have been better off re-signing Turkoglu and Gortat and traded Alston and Lee for a quality defensive guard and a rebounding young PF.

+1

VC is better than hedo I know, but not that much.

I think magic should have just focus on signing marion; a defensive player and keeping hedo ( but hedo is probabaly asking too much $$$).

If the magic lose hedo this trade would be like its Hedo+lee+ team chemistry+youth for vc

I don't think it's a given that the Magic will let Hedo walk. Would he really command a salary close to Vince's 15 mil a year? Probably not. How many teams are approaching Hedo with a max contract? In this economy, the bad teams are jettisoning big contracts and trying to rebuild.

The Magic could easily be thinking...if Jameer were healthy, if they had more production at shooting guard, they would have won in the Finals.

And really, that's not a terrible assessment.

Their two weakest positions in the playoffs were at point guard and shooting guard.

Vince Carter and a healthy Jameer are pretty big ass upgrades.

Man... big teams are making big moves and good ones at that. But team chemistry is what is important. We'll see how they pan out during season...

Lakers although will mostly be able to retain their core guys... i think we need that one trade or ground shaker person to put us just over that edge.

Can't wait to see what will pan out for us..hehe.. Trades are even more exciting then this years' draft i think lol

come on, carter is not that good anymore. If I am the magic gm, i won't give Alston and Lee. Both are such a contributor and a huge factor. I think carter also cannot play full 82 games anymore.

Having watched VC extensively since he's come to New Jersey. He is significantly better than Hedo at every aspect of the game, you talk about how well Hedo moves the ball but newsflash... VInce moves the ball better, he's arguably a top 3 shooting guard, right there with Kobe, in terms of his playmaking ability.

Hedo's efficiency is also much worse than Vince's...

I have no clue what you're smoking but please bro, pass the Reefer.

VINCE CARTER:

2004-2005: 77 (games missed 5)
2005-2006: 79 (games missed 3)
2006-2007: 82 (games missed 0)
2007-2008: 76 (games missed 6)
2008-2009: 80 (games missed 2)

Total Games Missed last 5 years: 16

HEDO TURKEYGLUE:

2004-2005: 67 (games missed 15)
2005-2006: 78 (games missed 4)
2006-2007: 73 (games missed 9)
2007-2008: 82 (games missed 0)
2008-2009: 77 (games missed 5)

Total Games Missed last 5 years: 33

Please explain to me how Vince is still "injury prone" and how Hedo is not more "injury prone" than Vince. I'd love to hear what you have to say.

There are a few things basketball related that rile me up and one of them is how underrated Vince Carter has become.

Hell the last 4 years the great Chris Paul, Chris Bosh, and Carmelo Anthony have all missed more games than Vince but it's funny how they're not "injury prone"...

Poor Boston...

They look like Father Time already but now the road just got monumentally more bumpy.

I don't know that we have seen the full Magic plan.
You guys know how it is, you as a GM have a plan on what you want to do.
If it works, you are a hero. If it fails you are a zero.
It is so hard to get the right team, at the right time and keep it together
for any amount of time. We read that the Magic are going after R. Wallace and Bass.
Also G. Hill wants to finish in Orlando. Now for the short time these additions, if they come
and work, are great for the Magic. If any part of the plan fails, well then we all talk
about how the GM is a idiot. I just trust our GM, that He is smarter then me and knows
what is going on and what He wants to do.

If anything it's all but set in stone they're done with him. Vince is owed 51 mil over the next 3 seasons. Truk is history in the Magic Kingdom.
