I trust LA Times more than our wiretap too  it says the Lakers are shopping Farmar.

Good! I was hoping they would be.

Thanks.

I'm with DD, let's trade him for Crittenton.

I just don't see it as a good move though necessarily because Farmar has something that the other developing players on the team don't just yet:

- A complete arsenal:

- Has a three-point shot
- Has a mid-range
- Can attack the basket as well as pull up, a very underrated ability.
- Can pass in the pick-and-roll as well as in the traditional triangle perimeter rotation.
- Decent size at 6-2 almost.
- Fast with the ball and a very good ball handler.
- Confident
- Can play solid to good defense when focused and pushed by another PG.
- Able to run the fast-break and take it to the hoop for a foul.
- Very young still.

Has he put that together? No not at all and I'm probably cussed him out four million times just this past season. Does he have a full arsenal, heck yes. He really did play well in the playoffs turning that game 3 in our favor saving us from going down big time in that series with Houston.
He's the kind of guy who could really take off somewhere else with a second shot. Is he perfect? No. Does he bring a new dimension to the offense? Heck yes. He does so much he's on target.

I like your assessment but you missed one thing...........he doesn't see the floor well at all. And as a point that's the one thing you have to do well at on the NBA level.

That to some degree is true although I can't say that Fisher and Brown do either. He's criticized heavily for being too much of a scoring PG at times but then again that's what we ask for here.

Back on point, can Farmar develop that court vision? To at least league average amongst point guards which should be enough to play in the triangle but unlike what others say I cannot see him running a run-and-gun Steve Nash style because of that detriment. How do we re-create his game here in L.A.

The best way to avoid having Farmar's court vision affect you for now would be to play him off-the-ball where he can shoot the open shot or drive both of which he's effective at. Not just for the sake of money but for the sake of the bench we must figure out which cog in the Farmar-Vujajic-Walton lineup must be changed. Personally I think it's Vujajic.

It has to be Luke or Ammo to be offered. If mitch's gonna use farmar's contract, it will be a waste. Farmar deserved his salary. Luke and ammo are overpaid. Farmar could also be the starting PG for us next season. Fish is aging and we have to understand that.

Sasha's contract has the greatest incentive to be moved. Morrison is an expiring and Walton's contract is too long however, Sasha on the other hand could be moved in the right deal. It might take recreating his value to do it however.

I know I've been pimping it for way too long but I still think that Walton/Morrison for Curry trade is the way to go because if you re-sign Walton for cheap:

1. You've said 11m-14m depending on how much the Knicks send
2. You've aligned your three terrible contracts to end at the same time
3. You've possibly kept yourself out of luxury tax difficulty in the near term future, by knocking so much salary out in two years
4. It'll cost Buss the same this year (maybe the Knicks send a boost of 3m in the deal which would be quite helpful to Buss)
5. Next year we'll likely have the same salary situation with Farmar replacing Fisher's salary almost but a little bit cheaper

The nightmare of our terrible contracts though will end right after that.

Farmar? Hm....what exactly would you get for Farmar? should have drafted a shooting guard to back up Kobe, like Marcus Thornton. He was a steal as a second rounder and New Orleans is lucky to get him. I figured he'd end up their two being a Lousiana guy.

Farmar's better than Marcus Thornton, but that's just me talking.

Farmar+Morrison likely are going to get shopped for some kind of upgrade this off-season. Not sure exactly what it is but that would seem to be the way to go. Our number of extra 2nds( ours every year plus the Knicks, the Heat, and the Grizzlies 2nds).
