Bowen says he'll return if waived

Post#1 » by Magz50 » Wed Jun 24, 2009 4:10 pm

"If the Bucks do waive Bowen, he will be free to sign with any team, but he made clear that his first choice would be to return to the Spurs, were they to offer him a contract.

“Absolutely,” he said."

He has been so important to us and I think he deserves a chance to come back and coast on the talent we are gathering and get a free championship on his way to retirement. Kind of like Adam Morrison in LA, just kidding, even a 37 year old Bowen can give more than Adam gave to the Lakers.

Well I would think so... he is an SA guy. He has roots in SA. He is even getting his masters in educational admin at UTSA. He even found his wifey here. He should no matter what be a 10/15 min guy. A situational player. Nothing more, nothing less.

I just hope Pop has a spot open for him. That would be great. I think there is definately a role for Bruce as long as he can play great for 15 mins a night.

I heard Oberto is expected to come back too.

It would be hilarious if this turned out to be Thomas for Jefferson.

We still need a big or two...

Honestly, I think we have a bigger need for Thomas than Bowen. We already have Jefferson, Manu, Mason, and Finley on the perimeter. And considering Bowen was the odd man out last year, that's not likely to change this year if he returns.

I hope we don't add finley to the front court depth equation, I am tired of being old, I hope he retires, there still has been no movement on his situation. I would rather have Bowen come back than Finley. Someone who can come in and lock down people defensively when we are struggling as opposed to a shooter who rarely heats up anymore.

We need to add a younger SF prospect than Bowen that can contribute fifteen minutes a night, as well as a starting C and another young big to add depth to that new center, Tim, Ian, and Matt. I saw Hermann was let go by the Pistons, he would be cheap can play the 3 or 4 and is the same age as Richard Jefferson. Plus he knows Ginobli from Argentina. What do you guys think of him?

People do not understand Curry's reason for wanting to be a ballerina. He wanted to be able to contort his body to be able to fit in the fridge.

I'd like to get Herrman, Oberto, Manu, and Scola simply because it would be fun to put out the argentinian team out there on the floor.

I'd take Herrman if he's asking for the minimum. we should concentrate our mLE on a big.
