My draft day experience

Post#1 » by dustinzb » Fri Jun 26, 2009 7:26 am

So i'm in NYC, woke up at 4am to stand in line, and just got back to my friends place in Brooklyn, and what a night. First i'm a little bummed out we didn't get Terrence Williams, doesn't make sense to me seeing as they have Courtney Lee now. I'm sitting in WaMu, NJN just picked Williams, and I fear the worst; we're taking Hansborough. But I walked out to the lobby and here comes T-Will wearing his NJN hat, I showed my Charlotte shirt and told him to please come to Charlotte. All he told me was, "I know man tell me about it!" Derrick Brown was my favorite pick I think he is going to be a solid contributor. I'm happy we traded away Vaden too, never cared for him. Based on the position we were put in, we succeeded.

And then after leaving the draft, I see this HUGE guy standing outside Wamu theater. I look a little closer and low and behold, Alexis Ajinica and Nicolas Batum are chilling outside the back. Made my night, I talked to Ajinca about playing time and told him to keep working hard, and good luck. Was a very nice guy.

Amazing night, I can't wait until I come back next year!
