I am fine with the Suton pick. He won't make the team.

At this point there's not much competition for spots 11-13 on the roster...

Price costs too much for what we get from him. Maynor will be nice and cheap for quite a while.

Did anyone else find Sloan's comments about putting Maynor behind Price a little odd? I mean, Price is an unrestricted free agent and Sloan's third string guy last year. Seems a bit odd to be promising the backup job in late June to a guy that's not on your roster. I wonder what KOC thought of that.

When and where was this?

Last night:

"He gives us the ability," the Jazz coach said, "to have a young player that maybe can come in and play behind Deron Williams and Ronnie Price, and hopefully make himself a better player."

I'm fine with it, that was Price's role at the beginning of the season (when Deron came back) and he did OK for a while. People seem to have forgotten how well he did while Williams was out--if he can produce like that for a full season then the job should be his. I think Jerry is just wanting to keep him so he has someone with some energy. Time will tell.

First Round: B

At #20 the Jazz got a guy who I think will be in the league for quite a while, I think he'll have a positive effect on the team and I think if something were to happen to Deron I'd be happy to have Maynor fill in for a few games.

He was expected to be there at #20 so it's not like the Jazz got a steal, but they didn't reach at all, and I think 2-3 years from now we'll look back and see that Maynor is a better player then quite a few of the PG's ahead of him who won't reach their draft night potential.

Second Round: A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I've never been happier with a #50 pick in my life.

After thinking about it for a day,

I have a B for Maynor. It he will probably be a good backup point and he was BPA imo.

Suton I am less of a fan of. I would have prefered Heyvelt, McNeal or Paul Harris. D

Overall a C.

I am going to get the hugest erection when Maynor puts in his first floater. That little runner he has is so effective.
