I don't think Flynn was very high on NY's board--- Curry, Hill, and even Holiday were all rumored there before Flynn
Knicks think Danilo will be a star and for good reason. 6'11 with handles, post game, spot-on jumpshot. He had minor surgery 3 months ago and just finished physical therapy, despite not doing any running or jumping Dantoni claims he picked up a basketball for the first time 2 days ago and made 23 3-pointers in a row.
Would you guys do David lee and Chandler for Flynn or Rubio? You may not need Lee but we could make it a 3-way trade and send lee somewhere so you guys can get an SG.
(Coming from a Knicks fan) I don't think that the Knicks would trade Gallinari for Flynn at this point. You also have to wonder about Lee and Chander for Rubio or Flynn because it seems that the Walsh did not want to include Chandler in a trade to Washington that might have given us pick #5.
If Kahn is truly thinking of using Flynn, a true PG, as a SG, why did he not simply draft Curry instead? If you want to go with a small SG he would be a much better choice than Flynn because he has actually played the position before. I also think that more teams would have wanted to trade for Curry than Flynn.
You guys could have also reached for DeRozan or Henderson to compliment the PG you chose, but instead your man chose to take 2 players who are used to controlling the ball, and put one of them (Flynn) in a position (SG) he has never really played, and put the other, Rubio, in a situation where he might be threatened by the presence of another PG on the team.
A very strange pair of picks if Minny is actually intent on keeping both of them. Potentially a blunder which could get your GM fired if Rubio chooses to go back to Europe or Flynn fails (and he will) to be an adequate SG.
A major fail if Kahn does not have a trade up his sleeve.
