Whats the deal with Kaberle being involved? Supposedly there's a significant deal on the table? I'm dying to know.

Reading here on TSN.ca that Kessel and a pick are being offered to Toronto for Kaberle. Burke has to do this. Kessel is a great forward and will only get better. Leafs are in need of a forward with this type of potential.

Going south according to Darren Dreger, possibly dead due to miscommunication between the teams.

So, just a recap. Chia and Burke were negotiating. They thought they had a deal done.

Chia thought, Bruins receive Kaberle and 7th pick.
Burke though, Maple Leafs receive Kessel and a pick

When they started to finalize the deal, they realized how waaayyyy off they were. So as of right now this deal is dead.

My question is, do you guys think Burke and Chia will try and work this out?

^In my opinion, no. That shows the gap in the perceived value by both sides. I think Chiarelli had a pair asking Burke for Kaberle and the 7th overall, I can just imagine what Burke's reaction was when they were finalizing that. Overall I'm frustrated with this deal not getting done, or not being rejected early on.

I personally hope the two sides do talk again, as I'd love to see a Kessel/Kaberle deal go down (straight up though), but I just don't see it happening.
