Tavares, Hedman, lots of story-lines, especially with trade talk, Heatley being on the block. Should be an awesome draft.

Re: 2009 NHL Entry Draft
No one made a thread yet, so I thought I would make one. I will not be on for tommorows draft, so if a gen nhl mod wants to edit, or delete and make a new one, that is fine with me.
I am personally looking forward to a couple of storylines, first is, Kessel, will he get traded. Second is this Chris Kreider kid, who verbally committed to BC. He grew up two towns over from me, and went to a rival school for two years, then transferred to a private hockey school. He would be the first mass raised athlete to get drafted in the first round in over 6 years. Also, ray bourques second son, http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=4262 ... tMicrosite.

CC, I made one in the Draft section.

Re: 2009 NHL Entry Draft
Lol. Yeah, I mean I understand we should try and use all boards. But at the same time we want to gather more traffic in general, so posting it on the general board would make more sense. If you or MAS, or someone else has a write up set up, feel free to lock this one though, and set up your own.
Anyway, Kessel for Kaberle and the 7th has been offered. per tsn.
I don't know, I mean, I feel that is a good deal for kess. But at the same time, I don't want to see him in toronto light us up every time we play.
edit: now it is kessel plus pick for kab. Damn... Chia really wants Kab.

I honestly doubt Burke gives up Kaberle for Kessel straight up. That's highway robbery and then some for Boston.

Re: 2009 NHL Entry Draft
We should just get rid of all of the other boards except team boards, this one and the fantasty board. The others are just wasted space. Anyway, the only thing I asked was who you think will fall to your team and who you would want on your team, that realistically, could happen.
For me, I would love Zach Kassian on the Pens. The kid would be a perfect fit for Sid or Geno. Realistically though, I think Zach Budish will get to the Pens. I like him. He's big, has skill. The only knock on him is his skating the knee injury he sustained, which may be the reason he falls to the Pens.

Niedemeyer is coming back this season. Pronger may be on his way out.

Good job. I think this will be a fun draft. If the Islanders don't draft him, there is going to be a riot in the arena. There are 17,000 fans doing a draft party on the Island.

Re: 2009 NHL Entry Draft
I didn't know there were that many islander fans.
Really looking forward to where this kreider kid goes. I've known people who have been drafted in sports. But they never made it to the show. This kid has a real shot, and he only grew up 10 mins away. That might sound lame to a guy living in canada, or even pitt. But for a small mass town that is really cool, well for me.

That's awesome he lived so close. I love it when local kids make it to the big leagues. I was so hapy when Blair got drafted. Even though it was in the 2nd round, he's still gonna make a lot of money and him and his family deserve it. They grew up in the poorest neighborhood in Pittsburgh.
Looks like Pronger may be heading to Philly.

Don't want to see that happen. I'll have to deal with Flyer trolls now.

Woo hoo. It's starting. How come we got no PMs about the NHL draft?

Prongers a flyer??? ****, for what?
Kab to boston for kess looks dead because of miscommunication.

Names not mentioned. I'm sure JVB will be a part of it plus a salary dump. Otherwise, the Flyers couldn't make it work. If JVB is involved in it, I like the trade for the Pens because this is a 1 year thing and JVB is going to be a beast. Geez, Anaheim would have a sweet top 2.
It is true. To Philly.

That's why I love hockey. So many trades. And they literally had burke on camera talking about a trade. You never see that in any sport.

Yeah. These Canadian broadcasts are so much better then the USA coverage. Lets just move TSN and CBC down south.

Anyway, Anaheim is going to rape the Flyers. Some say Lupul, JVB and 3 draft picks for Pronger.
Can you imagine Ryan, Perry, Getzlaf, Lupul and JVB in the top 6. Damn. I think they will be favorites in the West now.

1st pick is John Tavares.
The Islanders got their face of the franchise.
