Could Crawford help Joe more than Bibby

Post#1 » by Harry10 » Fri Jun 26, 2009 9:32 am

Bibby never really creates for Joe, but he does help keep the double team off of Joe with his shot

Crawford can do exactly the same thing, but the biggest advantage in having Crawford and not Bibby, is that with Crawford, i think Joe will be able to get more rest. instead of Joe getting 40min, Hawks can cut it down to 35min with the addition of Crawford.

Woody pretty much just runs the offense with Joe dominating the ball and everybody else just standing around. when Joe has to sit, Woody goes into panic mode and barely gives Joe any time to rest. now with Crawford, Woody can run the same offense with Jamal on the floor as the number one option while Joe is on the bench.

Crawford/Flip and Crawford/Teague can help Joe out more than just giving him extra weapons around him.

Crawford is not a great shooter just so u know.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

well i dunno bibby is pretty good an a better point than jamal but jamal can really slash and score and pass so i bet what that means is when jamal slash then he get double and that mean joe can be all alone and kinda float out there and wait for the pass and get wide open shoots so like that yea he can help joe but joe gunna have to defend the better guard the other way cause that aint craw specialty

We have to consider that MAYBE Crawford's role won't be as a PG, but as our new starting SF. A second 20 point scorer on the wing prevents teams from totally focusing on JJ.

As a threat and a guy who CAN score in one on one situations, teams will have to play us straight up and allow JJ to catch the ball. If Bibby is re-signed, with his shooting abilty, it opens the floor in the halfcourt a TREMENDOUS amount.

It would be a brilliant move to keep Bibby and allow JC to focus on scoring, not on running the offense.

Obviously, you've never seen Crawford play.

I really like this move for ATL. You guys needed another guy who could facilitate to go along with JJ, and I think this solidifies you guys as the 4th teams in the East (closer to the ORL/BOS/CLE win total than everybody else). Crawford can do whatever he wants basically with the basketball, and for the playoffs this is a very good move as well. When Crawford and Josh Smith are playing well this ATL team can beat anybody. They will be inconsistent at times but they'll always be explosive, and most definitely fun to watch. I definitely look forward to watching you guys next year.
