what would u guys want from knicks for rubio?

Post#1 » by knicksup19 » Fri Jun 26, 2009 11:48 pm

Would u guys take Wilson Chandler( average 14.5ppg and 5.5rpg) a 20 year old replacement to Foye and Nate robinson a scoring machine( average 17ppg and 4assist) a fan favorite?

If not then what if anything at all?

No....I really don't think the knicks have what it takes to get Rubio. What makes you think we want to trade him anyways?

Lol... I mean.. if Rubio doesn't want to come, I think working on a good deal for BOTH teams is the best thing to do.

U trade Miller and Foye for the 5.. is an offer with I'd say, Chandler and NAte/Lee.. worse? I don't think so.. Chandler alone to me is worth more than Foye.

I would prefer a team that has something of value. I don't like anything that the Knicks have. The most valuable thing was the 8th pick, but after they took Hill that wasn't an option any more.

If he doesn't want to play for you, his value automatically decreases.. so a deal should be comparable to the one made to obtain the pick(at least, that's what I think could be fair)

OK, I'll say this for the 100th time. Where do you people get the idea that Rubio doesn't want to play for us? He didn't say it...he said it's cold........who hasn't?

No. The Wolves own his rights, so the Wolves have the power here. Kid can stay in Spain if he really wants to, but I don't think that will happen. Don't expect anybody to get a steal of a trade here. There are plenty of teams that would want him.

Sounds like the Knicks front line ...

I didn't realize NY had no 2010 pick ... they may really be screwed for a couple more years ... OUCH

The thing that must be taken into account is that you simply can not trade rubio to every team like in a normal trade.. Since he looks like very particular, he wants to play for very few team.. probably now he only wants to play for the knicks(there are probably other teams, but we don't know).. so in order to make a trade there is also to find a partner that Ricky likes. This makes the whole process a lot more complicated. There will be maybe options to make 3 ways deals? We don't know. The only thing we know is that Kahn and Walsh are friends, so they could very well work to make a deal that satisfy both teams

Exactly. Wolves have ALL the leverage. We are fine with him waiting a year or two to come over. If he really wants to play sooner he will come play for us. The kid doesn't know anything about the world, the United States, much less Minneapolis. He has just heard so much trash talk about this city being in like the middle of Antarctica that he's a bit hesitant. But the real issue seems to be the fact that he was picked 5th rather than 2nd or 3rd, making his buyout more complicated. Kahn will be patient with him, and won't rush some horrible trade. Patience is a virtue, and Kahn seems like a patient man. If he doesn't lose his patience, he won't lose his leverage. End of story.

I suggest you listen to Rubios recent teleconference there dude. he said he had no problem playing in Minnesota. The only problem is the contract with his europe team. all this stuff of you knicks fan and media saying he doesnt want to play here is complete BS.

Didn't the Knicks have a similar deal lined up with the Wizards for the 5th pick that they didn't pull the trigger on because they felt that Rubio wouldn't be there with the 5th pick?
