did the Hawks upgrade their PG situation?
will this trade help the Hawks win more games (like Flip)?
will this trade help the Hawks do better against Orlando and Cleveland?

I really don't think it's close if we're talking about which one should be the starting PG.

Crawford is killing Bibby on offense, not even close really. Maybe 7yrs ago it would've been different.

Efficiency on offense has to count for something. Crawford can score, but he shoots an incredibly low % and takes far too many shots. Bibby is also a smarter offensive player with better PG ability.

Yeah, Crawford is the better scorer, but with all the one on one play by the Hawks, I'm not sure that's too important. Makes them more dangerous in the clutch though.

And I'm guessing Bibby's no longer an option after this draft.

Defense -Crawford. long arms gets steals
Shooting-Crawford. made 16 straight shots in vs miami
Passing-Bibby/Crawford. both can pass good
basketball IQ-Bibby.more experience
Creating shots-Crawford.one of best 1 on 1 players in the nba
Overall-Crawford 29yrs old, Bibby 31 yrs old..Crawford gets the Nod pretty easy

Right now, I'd say there is still a chance they will resign Bibby. If so, we will have a fantastic backcourt rotation. If we don't bring him back, I'd bet they resign Flip and leave us with an only slightly worse situation. I'm excited that we will, one way or another, have an improved guard rotation.

Some have been saying they don't agree with the two guards we've picked up because they are not pure PGs. I feel that, while Bibby was very good for us these past two seasons, we looked our most dangerous with Flip in there being a more dynamic scoring threat. Too often, we saw Bibby bring the ball up court and then immediately pass it off rather than running a pick-n-roll or something where he creates. I do think both Crawford and Teague better fit our offensive scheme because we don't use a PG in a fashion where they need to be a pure PG. We need shooters and guys who have the athleticism to drive to the rim and play defense. I believe we have that in Crawford, Flip, and Teague (maybe not defense, but that's more about attitude as long as you have the physical ability). I know this is not a popular belief, but I think this is what they are thinking. We shall see if it has any chance at beating LeBron/Shaq or Nelson, Vince, Hedo, Rashard, and Howard.

not sure if crawford is an upgrade over bibby
but the guy always seems to murder Miami..........

Only thing Crawford has over Bibby is handle, the guy has amazing crossovers. Too bad the guy never wants to penetrate into the paint, he would be like Wade if he did.

Is Crawford even a better shooter than Bibby? He has more impressive hot streaks but overall I'd take Mike over Craw all day when it comes to shooting the basketball from the PG position.

Crawford should be a star in this league. he just never had a complete team with him. He never played with a good big man. In Chicago every one was like 19 years old on that team. On the Knicks he played with Marbury who hates passing.

Alot of Atlanta games I saw had bad shooting nights and no spacing on the court. He'll give you guys that with Joe.

It's like comparing apples to oranges. Bibby is a pg and Crawford is not.

That. Crawford is primarily a SG who plays spot PG minutes. Bibby is a shoot-first PG.

IMO Crawford is easily the superior individual player... Bibby probably makes his teammates better to a higher degree than Crawford, but it's a slight margin.

I'd take Crawford over Bibby

Defense- Crawford by Default because Bibby doesn't play it

Passing- Bibby. Not the greatest assist man in the world but actually top 10 in the league in assist to TO ratio. He takes care of the ball

Scoring- Crawford. Not the greatest FG%, but the guy gets to the FT line which helps out his overall efficiency.

Spot shooting- Bibby. Crawford is better when he shoots off the dribble.

Overall I think Crawford helps us replace Bibby without taking a step back. And with the addition of Teague off the bench, overall we can take a step forward at the position.

The one thing that will hurt us is chemistry. These guys created chemistry with Bibby for 1.5 years now. It's too bad to break it up.
