http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sport ... eague.html

“I feel like when you look back down the road, I’m going to be the best point guard taken in this draft,” Teague said via conference call from his home in Indianapolis. “With my potential and my work ethic, I feel like I’m going to be the best. Those other teams are going to realize they passed up on a great point guard, and the Hawks got me.”

I like Caron Butler/Paul Pierce "I'm going to play with a chip on my shoulder because you passed on me" type of attitude. Acie showed confidence as well...but he just couldn't transfer it on the court for some reason. Another thing why Acie didn't work out here is because he just couldn't hit jumpshots. If you go to 82games.com you will see that his eFG% on jumpers was just horrible for both years he played here.
“I think when you’re picking 19, its tough for a player to come in and get into the rotation right away,” Sund said. “He’s a pretty good talent, so if anybody can, it may be Jeff. He has a great handle, and he can really shoot it, and I like guys that can shoot it.”

This is what I suspected. The Hawks really aren't concerned with him being a "pure pg". Teague has the best combination of 1 on 1 scoring and outside shooting of any player in the entire draft outside of Stephen Curry.

Can't believe that Blair dropped like that... I can't believe that no team bought a pick to snap him up. Hell- even if his knees are a disaster and you only get 1 season out of him thats worth a second round pick. Unbelievable.

I like Teague mostly because I think that the love affair with the "traditional PG" is ridiculous. I'm not going to criticize the Hawks for passing on Blair with their pick since its obvious that every other team was just as scared of his knees. I am definitely on record as saying that every team in the league messed up by not jumping on him once he dropped so far. The Spurs got a ridiculous steal.

^^^ If you go through the thread, you'll see that we were thinking about you (and Blair). Tremendous bargain in the 2nd.

Ha- well the suicide watch can be called off. I certainly hope that the Hawks just saw the MRI's on his knees and know something that i don't. BUt I still say that there is absolutely no excuse for not going out and getting another pick when Blair fell so far. The Hawks have just 2 bigmen signed at this point and Blair woudl have immediately become the best rebounder on the team. I think that just off of offensive rebounding Blair would have helped the Hawks more on offense than Jamal Crawford.

I just think this is one of those things that we will look back on for a long time and shake our heads.

I think the real team that messed on on not drafting Blair was the Bulls at 26. The worst case scenario for them was getting Reggie Evans on a 2 year deal for peanuts on one of the league's worst rebounding teams.

Not to mention he's a much better athlete than Curry.

And we may be the most athletic team in the NBA if we lose Bibby for Crawford and Teague.

From 1 to 5 we have a guy who can make a highlight reel
