The LAL already have Ricky Rubio on their team, he's just Asian and we got him in the second round for chump change, low risk. The Chinese Magic. Same guy, outstanding passer, weighs a buck, and doesn't do much else.

Send him to NYC.

Rubio & Flynn...Rubio project, Flynn isn't explosive, or a scorer. I didn't like either pick at 5 or 6.

i like Lawson better than both those guys and he was picked 18th and went to the fn' Nuggets.

Nah guys you trade him now. You don't wait until he is exposed on D or has a serious injury, you trade him when no one knows shi*.

No they wouldn't do that...

Ellis is a pain in the ass coming off injury, Cardinal is old cheese.

No way. Ellis wants to be a PG so that doesn't solve the 2 PG problem.

Spurs had to. You don't. I don't actually believe the mumbo-jumbo about it being ok if he doesn't come over. How many more years are you planning on developing? Kahn promised one more year, one more year until you try to make something of yourselves. And Rubio staying overseas for the next 1-2 years is not part of that plan. This is what's going to happen. Flynn is going to be moved. For an SG that isn't Wilson Chandler, and therefore doesn't suck. Rubio will play, he will play well, this shall all be forgotten and we dance.

I tend to agree with you. I hope you're right.
However, if khan's shown anything so far it's an obsession (and talent for) getting value out of his assets.
I don't think it will necessarily be a SG because of that. 3rd defensive big is also a priority for him.

The problem is that it's hard to get value for him now that everyone is satisfied with their draft picks, and future draft picks are so uncertain. PHX /clark/richardson could make sense, maybe kevin martin from sacto if they want to cut salary. the perfect time to get value would have been yesterday when we had trade down opportunities, and now that time will shift to the next draft when the quantities are known, because you don't trade a #6 pick for a future pick no matter the protection.

Ironically the 2 guys he was traded for, miller and foye, are good fits as outside shooters next to rubio.

I thought for certain he was going to sacto for evans, that must be a dead opportunity.

Flynn is a hard nosed point guard, tough. He's not a shooter, he's six feet tall, he's not a leaper, he's a solid hard nosed PG, he's not a speed demon.

Thanks. We were all collectively waiting is suspense to see what some random Laker poster thought of the trade. Now that we know, we might as well just give up and trade everyone.

No. Any discussions would have to start with Randolph.

Looks pretty clear now that Rubio is a chip to turn into something in the future - maybe even as much as 2 years down the road. Doubt he'll ever play here, but he may be useful to get an important piece. Its too bad because Rubio has such high potential and would be fun to watch.

Wolves will go to battle with Flynn - hopefully he can become a playmaker. If he has Brewer in the backcourt with him, he's going to have to score as well. If he starts with Ellington, that will be a brutal education for the 2 rookies. Obviously a 2 guard is a need.

Current roster likely gets really hammered next year. Kahn's 16 month plan is cleary going to become a 36-48 month plan.

His vertical is 40". Super athlete Demar Derozan's is 38".
