Going back to an earlier point, I think that we all have to realize something here. We may see something that LOOKS a little like the Princeton. We still have mobile in and out bigs that can shoot.

But in reality, I think that it will slowly become something we only see rarely. Paul Westphal believes in uptempo offense, but it is a point guard dominated one except on the break that DOES rely on a post-up player that puts up bigger numbers (i.e. - Barkley; Chambers) but that can also shoot to draw his man out so that the big strong PG (Kevin Johnson/Tyreke Evans) can post his man and live at the free throw line. I don't know how long a lot of you have been around watching this game (I know Smills is a misguided young Rebpublican but I am still holding out hope ;-)!), but I have been to games and seen Westphal's offense in action. It is NOT the Princeton.

^^I have a feeling Westphal will work some elements of the Princeton into his offensive scheme, especially if Coachie is going to be around. When you think back to Adelman's days here, even he didn't run a pure Princeton; he just melded elements of the motion, high-post offense into his plan. But I agree with your basic argument that the offense we see from Westphal will be different than what we've seen from the Kings in the past.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Frankly I'm a little relieved. As we have seen the Princeton has the serious limitation of not featuring a single player and that is a KILLER when it comes time to put the game on the back of a key guy - and also never really allows that guy to develop and shine. I really hope that we do get a little more traditional NBA here so that we can go head to head with a playoff style of ball against the better teams.
