I have read you and have read Coro - and I still don't get Tyson Chandler. Granted, he does have two years left on his deal, but if healthy, that is a no brainer deal for me. Depth is not a bad thing.

man, if not Chandler send Wallace to Clips for Curry and they can buy him out.

What's been the word on Amare's eye this summer? i saw in one place that he wouldn't play bball again or that he'll never be the same. I assume that's not true but is it pretty bad?
He was just cleared last week to resume shooting and practicing. So, for all accounts and purposes, he should be fine. Although, from what he says, he will, from now on and no matter what, will wear goggles. He said that at the beginning of the season after Diaw got his eye, and then decided to not wear them and look what happened. He got hit in the eye again and lost for the season.
--- The second hit had nothing to do with it - it was going to happen anyway. Look it up

Thanks IHG for the updates on both the GSW situation and the JRich talks.

First on GSW - it has to be either Randolph or Curry to make the deal work. The Suns still picked Luol Deng for the Bulls even though Iguodala was there. I realize that was financially motivated by the short term thinking Sarver - but still, they made the right pick. So, Kerr, hold your guns and make a good basketball deal. Shaq was financial - thats fine, and a very good financial deal. But for Amare, this needs to be a basketball deal and quantity doesn't mean quality (like the Barkley deal) If the Suns got Biedrins, Randolph and Azuibuike for Amare, I think I could live with that as that gives the team the center, the small forward and a good solid bench player.

As for J-Rich, without looking through all the teams, its obvious he is going to for long term debt. Maybe its two more years. Maybe the Suns have to take three years but lower dollars. Best case would be a combindation of contracts with one expiring in 2010 perhaps. But I doubt a team would take on his two years for all expirings in 2010. So, based on all of this, my two choices are:

1) I would say the Hornets but I do not think they can package Ben Wallace for 60 days in a trade as I would have said Chandler/Peja for J-Rich/Wallace. I think Peja and JRich cancel each other out on years and dollars but the Hornets save big time on the Wallace buy out

2) The Clippers for Randolph or Kaman. With Griffin coming in, they really don't need Kaman, Randolph, Camby and Griffin. I doubt the Clippers would give us Camby as he makes more sense then Randolph for the team - he can defend, the other three would clog the paint. Randolphs deal I believe is two years left like J-Rich. Kamans has three more years, less dollars per year

So, those are my educated guesses if the team moves J-Rich.

Also, they might want to make sure they trade Sweet Lou in that deal. Something tells me those two won't get along.

Hey Justinb80 - I am not saying I would want the team to trade for Zach Randolph, I was just making educated guesses on who fits cap wise, length of years, etc.

Would I prefer a combination that somebody mentioned on the board like Earl Watson and Nick Colleson - of course. But I don't see OKC or another team giving the Suns a deal.

So I agree with you, I don't want Zach Rnadolph - but just trying to piece together a couple options off the top of my head.

I know but to me, Amundson is almost untouchable. Cheap deal, brings tons of energy - he is like the Birdman for Denver in a few years - those guys are hard to find. Now, I am not opposed to trading Amundson in a deal - but I like Louis a lot.

I realize this is hindsight but at the time I called /e-mailed both the Gmabo/Ash show and Bob Kemp show pushing for them to sign Rony Turiaf as he was an RFA I believe. But, to this day, I truly believe if the Suns had signed two Louis Amundson types that summer instead of signing Grant Hill and resigning Marks - I am not guaranteeing a championship - but they never would have never needed to make the Shaq trade as they would have had a couple guys to bring off the bench against the San Antonios, Utahs and Lakers, etcs to allow Amare to play the four in those specific games and the two other guys to play the defensive 5 and get the fouls, boards and what not.

One of the major blunders of the Sarver/Kerr D'Antoni regime for that summer was believing Amare should have been a better defender and not realized they needed a better role playing defensive 5 instead of Grant Hill. Come on, are you kidding me - a lineup with Nash, Marion, Amare and either Bell or Barbosa would SCORE enough points. Hell, they could put any of us out there and play 4 or 5 and still score the ball with that group of offensive talent

Like I said, hindsight - but I was pushing Turiaf that summer

I think the holdup is the Warriors are insisting on the inclusion of IHG. We love a good inside source. Rob Kurz coming back your way - deal? ;-)

Anyone beating up on IHG if he happens to get something wrong are forgetting that even a legitimate source is dependent on the people he has access to, and even two people staring each other in the face having a negotiation have misunderstandings, people change their mind, etc. etc. Sounds like you guys here have a good source who is accurately passing on what he hears. That is all you can hope for.

This is a senseless thread.... it is a complete waste of good drivel and merely emphasizes how amature-rankish our FO and fanbase is. May be I don't have an 'Inside Source' but I'll tell you this, all this information/misinformation is comical and doesn't amount to ANY GD THING. And at best, this premature e-curry-ation is setting the table for another monumental 'We tried/had to improve this team' spinjob from the front orfice.

We are hanging on every word outta the same mouth that said 2 - 3 weeks ago that we would not trade Shaq for monetary reasons ? WHAT ????

Then we turn around and call Nellie TWO FACED ? Jeezus.... pot meet kettle. At least Nellie's motives are to improve his team, not his balance sheet.

And y'all can crawl up your holy inside source's rearend all you want (first you'll have to dislodge Pidi cause he is firmly in there up to his ankles) ... this he said she said crap just spins the wheels of hype and goes against every rule of disclosure. And, consider his source (see above)..... Again, chew on all his info, but realize, it can and eventually will compromise the organization. You cannot conduct business this way. You tidbit 'hos just lap it up. Who's side are you really on ? Selling out for confirmed speculation to support your gots to know habit ? Selfish Gossip Junkies the lot of you. Look at the way y'all begged for your pusher to return...

Now go ahead and Hammer Me for my 'non appreciative' ways. It still stinks from inside out. I'd rather hear what the MadKantingNeuronicNanolike posters THINK we should do rather than what some snitchy insider claims we MIGHT do. And please, no self serving lectures on the past record of this Benedict Arnold / Edgar Casey wannabe. It has gotten outta hand.

This fan base, for the most part, have been hooked lined and sinkered into thinking our future is not but a fingertip away. Are we so GD desperate to rid ourselves of Amare that we ONCE AGAIN, reduce our demands to accommodate the opposition ? (For the life of me, I really can't figure out why we'd want Curry anyways. Barbo is every bit the offensive force and continues to improve.) GD, can't we ever walk outta a deal with our heads up and our fanny ungreased ?

Oh but wait.... this is all heresay that has been made so GD Public , the local rag is reporting it as if it is so.

If we jettison Barbs in this half assed attempt to retool, well, I'll be BobCat-n positivly, and Suns-n negatively... count on it. (at least until we decapitate the two headed monster running this team) I have supported this organization for many years, and never ever expected to to shelve them out of disgust.

I am beginning to think the BEST MOVE we could make is to lock stock and barrel it to San Diego. Keep the name and restart anew in a couple of yrs with a floundering franchise from elsewhere. Don't think THAT hasn't crossed the tiny untrustworthy minds of Sarver and Kerr.

There, at least now my therapist will be happy. I'm due for another pot of coffee. Thanks for stopping by.

To Kerr's credit he recognizes that which is why he is trying to get Suns finances in order so we can be the one making demands and getting the better end in trades.

great read, but even he was too kind to Kerr.

Thank God with the age of the internet, Direct TV and live feeds it's so easy to root for out of market teams. I am currently auditioning a new favorite team. somewhat apathetically at the moment. It's hard to end a long term marriage ,but there's also freedom in it, as long as i get to keep my CDs.

If the Suns blink on this Stoudemire Mexican standoff, they will forever be the little sister that always gets manipulated by the big sister into believing they really wanted the green sucker all along even though they were initially sure they wanted the red one. Fun times.

Yes, good insight to the real probs our FO has. Pity it has come to this. It is clear , in my mind, that the real steps to rebuilding begins with a new GM. Kerr-plunk has been in over his head ffrom his day as an advisor with an interim GM to now, struggling to balance inexperience with a shortsighted cost driven owner.

In a twisted way, I feel sorry for Kerr. He is failing. These past few weeks should make that apparent to everyone.
