TSN reporting substantial offer being considered for Kaberle.....Wash. news reporting that the offer is from the Caps. Would be Caps #1, prospect John Carlson, and possibly a roster player.

And Philly is going after Bouwmeester.

As a Pens fan, I seriously hope both of these happen. The Pens will just abuse both teams even more now.

Per NHL Network, Dave Bolland re-signs in Chicago. 5 years $18 million. Seems like a lot for him. I guess the Chicago boys will have to let us know how good of a signing it is.

Chris Pronger and Ryan Dingle traded to the Flyers for Joffrey Lupul, Luca Sbisa, two 1st round picks and a conditional 3rd round pick.

Flyers know how to collect Dbags like none other. Not sure I like the move for them too much though, because Lupul was a 25 and 25 guy. I heard it was only 1 first rounder?

Lupul was a salary dump for Philly. He was a liability for them. Played no defense and had off ice issues. The dumb thing about the trade was, it was to 1st round picks, and one of them wasn't a conditional on whether Pronger signs or not. Instead that one was a 3rd rounder. And they always gave away their stud defenseman in Sbisa. Pronger says he wants a 5 year deal worth $6 million next season and I don't see how Philly can fit him in with the contracts they already have signed. Philly is so stupid. To win the cup, you need a good goaltender and the Flyers just don't have that. They needed a goalie. They mortgaged their future for this season.

Yeah, especially because Leopold was a FA as well. You basically give a 3rd rounder to negotiate an extra 4 days with Bowmeester, who is from Western Canada, and would probably enjoy playing for Calgary. I'm sure they get him locked up and have a great defensemen core in Phaneuf and Bowmeester.

Man, Carolina got a steal with Jussi's contract. Such a stud in the playoffs.

Pens got a steal with Guerins contract. $2 mil. Made $4.5 last season. Satan made $3.5 last season on a 1 year deal.

Hawks resigned Dave Bolland, 5-years, $18 million. Very good signing. With all the hype surrounding Toews, Kane, Havlat, Sharp and Khabibulin, Bolland was extremely underrated, and to many in and out of the organization, the most important player on the team last season.

ugh...

10. Mike Komisarek, Montreal

GM Bob Gainey was making a last-ditch effort to re-sign Komisarek yesterday, but if he doesn’t succeed, Boston becomes a likely destination given the Bruins’ failed courtship of Toronto’s Tomas Kaberle. Florida, after losing Bouwmeester, may make a pitch as well. Key stat: Had two goals and 11 points while averaging 20:38 of ice time in 66 games.

Got that from globe mail. Eklund also reported the serious interest.

If that were to happen, and kess gets traded, boy my head would spin. He's a hell of a player, not questioning his talent. Just the history there..

A 7 1/2 million dollar center. . .do you think this will put the Vinny rumors to rest?

HAHAHAHA. Why the hell would Montreal take Gomez. Gainey is such an idiot. Gomez is so overpaid. Now Heatley will go to the Rangers.

Also, CC, don't believe Ecklund. The guy is a moron. He has a 2% chance of being right.

Gomez's contract is what ruins it. And Higgins was so awesome in the playoffs too. Ughhhhh.

Flames sign Bouwmeester. Too bad. I was hoping he would come back to the Eastern Conference. I loved watching Sid and Geno school him.

Looks like Heatley is heading to Edmonton. Just needs to waive his NTC and he is from Alberta, so I think he will.

Rangers will probably sign Hossa or Gaborik.

I hate Gainey. He helped the Rangers get out of cap hell for a lousy 2nd line center making $7.4 mil

It's official:

This has been a good offseason so far. Last year, I thought, wasn't that good.

Looks like this is going to go through, current proposal involves Cogliano, Penner and Smid going to Ottawa in return.
