What choices did Kahn have at 6th?

If I were Kahn I would have been picking between DeRozan and Jordan Hill with the #6 pick. Rubio and DeRozan would be a great fit. They would be a very good defensive backcourt with great size. DeRozan would be a sick finisher playing next to Rubio. Hill would give Miny another good big, of which you can never have too many.

If you think there's a lot of hoopla over drafting two PG's (we have none), I can't even imagine the hoopla there would be if we drafted a fourth PF (we have three good ones -- 7 on our roster)

Hill could absolutely play center next to Al Jefferson.

Wasting an early pick on a post player, when the two best players on the roster are post players and there are gaping holes everywhere else, is idiotic whether he'd play C next to Al or not. Wolves had to address 1-3, period. If it wasn't going to be Flynn/Curry (and either one poses the same problem), it would have had to have been either DeRozan or trade the pick. Hill was absolutely not an option.

That's not exactly an ideal situation though isn't. Sort of like our back court now, but just with a less talented player that "loves the night life." No thanks, I'll take Flynn the born leader any day.

So if Kahn took Flynn with the idea to trade with SAC, then what are the odds New York gets involved and brokers a deal with SAC? wouldn't SAC be interested in Nate Robinson or Lee? I don't see Kahn trading Rubio unless its for what he wanted in the first place which is by all accounts Evans.
Fagaan (Rubio's agent) is known for taking foreign players and getting them to their destinations, before this gets ugly, we either trade Rubio to NY but demand a third teams involvement because New York's Roster has little value to MN and lacks any 2010 first round picks.

Kahn needs to make the assessment on Rubio and his "Cold Minnesota" stigma sooner rather then later because he's going to further alienate and deflate this fan base.

It's not mentioned anywhere that Rubio doesn't want to play here? We would have selected Rubio over Evens regardless in my view

Kahn hasn't alienated any of us one bit, he has made our intentions very clear, that we're keeping Rubio... I am not in the least bit deflated, I am glad he made the moves he made on draft day and couldnt be any more excited for this upcoming season

To me, judging the 6th pick, it really boils down to who is going to have a better career:

Flynn, Curry, Derozan

I don't think there is anyone else even in the conversation.

It will be interesting to watch the Wolves vs Warriors and the Flynn vs Curry matchup.

Now if Derozan blows up into the next Kobe/Roy I'd be bummed. But he would have to improve several areas.
