Rubio has too much value. He's too unique. We haven't had the opportunity to draft a player like him for 14 years (KG). I'm not waiting another 14 years. I will be very, very displeased if we trade him for anything short of Lebron, Wade, Howard, or Paul.

C-mon... Sacramento passed on him to take Evans.. who to me, is a very overrated prospect. I think a package with Chandler is reasonable.. a very young prospect at the wing, who could become a 20 points guy easily and bring defense and rebounds.. not too bad.

People do not understand Curry's reason for wanting to be a ballerina. He wanted to be able to contort his body to be able to fit in the fridge.

If he's so overrated why do you want him so bad?

Sacremento's front office has 1 year to show improvement or they get canned. They really could not afford to risk having Rubio return to Spain for a year.

EDIT: Accidentally typed portland

Good lord, i wasnt even gone 24 hours and this thread went to hell. Couple points:

1. I am totally disappointed there were no trolls that decided to go head to head with Devilz, that would have been fun.

2. BrooklynBulls is now my favorite non-Wolves poster.

3. Why do I care what Lakers fans think on the trade?

4. Did Ric Bucher really use "fo sho" in a twitter or do i just not know how to read twitter?

5. Rubio is yet to say he doesnt want to play here and has given every indication he does want to be in the NBA.

Exactly the point.. It is pointless to keep both. Wilson is that good wing

You're right that was hilarious. Keep the jokes rolling.

For all the "keep flynn, trade rubio" posters...

Last year, the difference between the 5 and 6 picks was Love and Gallinari. Just sayin.

He's actually worse at tying a tie than me - and that's saying something.

Roughyl: He is far from disappointed in being picked by the Wolves. He is proud rather. His dream is to play in the NBA. Very small chance he goes back to Europe. He hoped he would know where he would be playing after the draft.

That may not be a perfect translation, but thats what i took from it.

Traslation:

I am not disappointed by exit 5, I am proud ... only 2 or 3 in Europe have gone in the top 3 or top 5 ...
my dream is coming to play here is where I dreamed of playing ...
The possibility of playing in Europe is minimal, it would only be if the DKV I would like ...

tvwolves7 wrote:Personally, I think Kahn is being very smart in saying he can wait for another season or two. Kahn is doing Fegan/Rubio a favor in saying he can wait because that gives them a bargaining chip in negotiations with the spanish government to get paid. As linked below his buyout is the property of the spanish government. Their government can either negotiate to get some large sum of money or not negotiate and allow millions to slip through their fingers.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4246467

Sure Kahn is doing the right thing. However, Rubio could sign a long contract with Real Madrid or F.C.Barcelona (with affordable buyouts after a couple of seasons) that would really hurt the Wolves leverage in this situation.

AlexS wrote:Ricky Rubio not return to Europe.....http://www.as.com/baloncesto/articulo/r ... sbal_6/Tes

He says today in spanish TV.

I think he's refering to play in Europe but not for Joventut. It's pretty confusing anyway.

The subtitle says "on coming back to Europe" and Rubio says there's a very small chance and it would only happen if Joventut didn't want him. Considering we're talking about as.com, that answer would make sense if they had asked him whether there was any chance that he joined Real Madrid.

I am always scared of people that on their first post give key info in a foreign language.

KSWN--I respect your insight, but I will JW you in a minute if you pull that crap and derail a board for 6 pages again.

Any of my sources as well as any credible media that does not work for 4 letter word believes the buy-out is the source of the issue. Followed by his deuce of an agent. Other than an 18 yr old kid saying MN is cold, he has not made a negative comment about MN.

KWSN-Men wrote:Just so you guys know the reason this is coming up is because Real Madrid made him a huge offer. They would pay his entire buyout and then pay him $17 million over the next 2 seasons. Then after that he would go to the NBA. This is not in the least bit impossible as Real Madrid is the richest sports club in the world. Also, because this way Rubio would play in a top 5 Euroleague club for the next 2 years. A HUGE leap in level from his current Spanish club.

On another note, the Wolves will probably win an NBA championship in the future. Rubio and Pekovic would be a nightmare for opposing defenses. And don't give me any crap on saying that. Pekovic is a freaking monster on offense.

Thanks KWSN. Rubio as a 20 yr old works fine for me. RUbio said that if he does go back overseas it will only be for his current team. Is he lying or was he misquoted? Also, what do you know about his father? Some people say he is the scary controlling type. I am excited about Pekovic and Rubio as well. Real Madrid would be a great chance for RUbio to grow with the coach, but where are you getting those figures from?

That's some pretty promising news at least. Maybe not all hope is lost.

I heard he was raised by Wolves and was then captured by poachers. The poachers locked him up in a storage warehouse for 5 years with nothing but a basketball, a rim, and a picture of David Stern grinning inanely. He dunked the ball repeatedly to keep himself sane, and survived by eating his way out of three feet of concrete wall and consuming algae and residue created in the mornings. At age 12 he was released into the wild and bounded off into the Dutch wilderness on all fours, foaming at the mouth.

He turned to pro ball when he was found in the woods by a Dutch coach who found him dunking on a bear.
