The Official Keep Amare Stoudemire Thread

Post#1 » by Mr. Sun » Sun Jun 28, 2009 12:56 am

Come on, why trade Amare? hmmmmm? Sun's already have cleared a boat load of salary and in prime position to save more by acquiring say, Chandler.

Preparing for summer of 2010? Don't make me laugh. Suns would be looking at just as much money in bidding on FA's of Amare's caliber than simply keeping Amare. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY Suns would shoot themselves in the foot by not retaining him because it is HIM (and Nash) that gives the Suns a star attraction for FA's.

Extending him for 3 years is win-win for the Suns. Kerr talks about Nash being the face of the Suns but he is wrong. It is foremost Amare, and Amare will be around a lot longer than Nash will be.

There is nothing unreasonable about extending Amare, and those who say differently don't know what they are talking about.

His salary next year is $16,378,325, after that $17,686,100, the 3rd, 4th and 5th year he will make $20 million. In other words, he will be reasonably priced for the next 2 years while continuing to give the Suns star attraction. It also gives the Suns a helluva lot more future trade leverage.

I'm fine either way, If Kerr can get an offer for him he should trade him but if no good offers come than just keep him...

no point extending a guy who doesn't want to be here

Instead of posting "I'm going to LA" etc he could just have easily said "STAT's a Sun, the way it's staying" or something, but he didn't

^and that's not my opinion per se. I'd MUCH rather trade for Chandler and see what we can do running under Gentry

Your wrong, flat out. I'd take Duncan right now over any PF in the NBA by far.

Except Anthony Randolph that is..................

You guys may get a tonn of GS fans to sign your "Keep Amare at the Suns" petition.

No other PF in the NBA comes anywhere near the basketball IQ of Tim Duncan.

He's widely regarded as the best PF of all time. Amare, Bosh, KG, Pau are all good, but Duncan is a walking championship. His supporting cast has been declining, not him.

If this Warrior trade doesnt go through with the original proposal... or atleast Randolph coming back.

Kerr should move on... sign Stoudemire hopefully agrees to a 3 year 60 Million extension.

Some say get Chandler, its a fair proposal, but the guy is unreliable to be healthy, yes... Suns trainers/medical staff do wonders, but Chandler seems frail. I'd know, he was on my fantasy team and the guy let me down BIG time by mssing games.. OR playing 5 minutes... lol.. Sure it'll show on his "stat" that he played that much games, but doesnt show the amount of games he played 5-10 minutes contributing NADA to the Hornets.

Wallace's 14+ Million contract is exactly worth that... $14 MILLION.... you gots to spend that wisely. Keep it and hopefully make a run for 2010 FA.... or for 2011 beyond... which looks like Sarver/Kerr's target.

Beasley, Mayo, Rose, etc all these young "studs" can be pryed away from their teams given the chance Suns look promising.

Duncan is a power forward because Bonner is the center, yeah ok?!! Duncan is a center (7'0 260)!! He just doesn't want to miss being the starter in the all star game because Yao gets all the votes (Talk about a ego!) so the Spurs have come up with a way to make this happen. Duncan has the skills to play next to another big but he is not PF.

C
Duncan
Yao
Howard
Shaq

PF
STAT
Garnett
Nowitzki
Gasol

Amare Stoudemire is the best power forward in the world.

Amare (pre-microfracture surgery) was better then Duncan, Garnett and anyone else. Now, not so much... Trade him, but not for nothin' Kerr!
