Kidd has expressed or so I am told that he wants to move on from Dallas. Surprise, surprise ....... here come the Cavs to pick him up.

I feel like Kidd is a terrible fit for them. What happens to Mo? Mo is a nice fit with LeBron because of his shooting touch. Kidd is not a great shooter at all. Kidd also likes to get up and down the court, but guess what - Cavs just acquired Shaq who is not utilized correctly on an up-and-down type team and will wear down and probably get injured. Having said all that, I would love this signing for them as a C's fan (as long as we are 100% sure we are not trading Rondo causing us to need a vet replacement).

Mo Williams to 2 guard? Delonte to the bench? Delonte's issue is that he has to be a starter to be happy. This would screw up chemistry.

Kidd is an underrated shooter. 43 percent from 3 last year.

Exactly.

I'm a big fan of D West and I hope if he was buried on the bench we could somehow trade for him because he could see a lot of minutes off the bench at both guard positions.

He may have had a better year last year but he is definitely not a great shooter still. And as listed that is only one of many problems. They already have a pretty big issue after that Shaq trade with what to do with Z as well (who only is not an up tempo big AT ALL).

Kidd would be tremendous for them. He'd improve their defensive rebounding, their defense at the 2 (he's still a nice defender at the 2 spot) and their ability to get out in transition. He'd still space the floor too.

If they could nab Kidd and resign Varejao, they'd be my pick to win it all.

Please don't do that again. I just laughed so hard that I just spilled coffee all over myself.

I think moving Mo to the 2 or bringing Kidd off the bench are both possibilities. A few months back Kidd said he'd be OK with coming off the bench, so Delonte could still start. Though I disagree with your comment about Delonte needing to be a starter to be happy. Even if he was moved to the bench, he'd still see close to the same amount of minutes he has now.

The Cavs front office thinks very, very highly of Delonte. Boston doesn't have the pieces to pry Delonte away from Cleveland (not taking a shot at Boston fyi, it would take a very special deal to get him).

That being said, I think Dallas will end up offering too good of a deal for Kidd to pass up and he will still be a Mav next season.

Yeah I have heard they have pretty much no interest in trading him, but if they are truly trying to sign J Kidd, they can't be THAT interested in Delonte if they are willing to let him rot on the bench. But I agree, we probably don't have the pieces to get him anyway. I'm just saying I'd love to have him back in green.

i think the papers just look at all the teams that have a shot at a championship and list them as places a guy might go.

today's papers list boston. now sure, danny knows him well, but the fans were so mean to him and his wife and child they didn't go to the playoff games anymore. Kidd won't come here as free agent, and i don't see why we'd want him to either.

artest would be a perfect pickup for us. He would be the 6th man off the bench and could guard lebron, kobe, lewis, etc. If Houston is thinking about blowing it up then maybe artest becomes available

It isn't like Kidd wouldn't help the Cav's but they need a starting PF or SF not to fill a position they have a ton of money already tied up in. I guess the big question mark is whether or not this kid Hickson is ready to be a starter.

Kidd in Boston would be a nice pick up, he can defend the two with House on the second unit and shoots well enough from 3 now that he is an option with Rondo in the backcourt. But we would still be a big man short even with Baby back unless we decide to see what Moore could do with a Kidd reunion. Yuck.

I'll give you the old part, but if you look at Kidds's 3 poing % for the year and playoffs it was surprisingly high. I think he averaged around 40% in the regular season an 44% in the playoffs

Hey, it doesn't look like the Cavs had a problem bringing the ball up the floor last season, it doesn't make sense to put all that money into Kidd when they still need help up front. Acquiring Shaq is a great move for them, but they need one more piece up there, not another guard, IMO.
