Not sure if you guys have seen this but Ricky Rubio has a Twitter account: http://twitter.com/rickyrubio9. We should blow the thing up with followers. As of the time of this post, he has 4660 followers, let's get it to 10000. After all, everyone knows that Twitter means a lot to people, especially these young kids.

We would need an official Spanish translator. The last post is encouraging.

Basically says that he's incredibly happy to be the 5th pick in the NBA draft. Obviously not a direct translation, but it's all positive stuff.

5 years of Spanish, straight A's the whole way through, I can understand reading it, and I think I can say "Hi" if give time.

It's interesting to note, that that not but a few hours after being drafted by us at #5 he said it was incredible and that he was very happy.

Here is the Google translator: http://translate.google.com/#. The number of followers is everything on Twitter. Maybe gaining a lot of followers will help him realize that there is a market in Minnesota.

If the Clippers offered Gordon and Jordan for Rubio, Minny should jump all over that.

No they shouldn't. They shouldn't actually jump all over anything that's trading Rubio. All focus should be on keeping Rubio. Well, I suppose Rubio COULD have been a "value" pick, a guy they didn't think was special, but couldn't just pass up on, but I doubt it. I think *Flynn* is the guy that was a value pick. IMO he was clearly the 5th best player in this draft, mainly because I think Thabeet will be like 13359th-best. Rubio has a certain bust factor, I admit that, but his upside is in the NBA elite, you can't say that about much of this draft. It's Flynn they should look to move, and I think their targets should include: Eric Gordon, Rudy Fernandez, Rodney Stuckey...rookie SG deals who are proven to be decent already. Barring that, then either likely high draft picks, or a quality rookie at any position that's not PG and PF. That's my view of it.

I think if we could move Flynn for Fernandez it would be great. But portland fans are impossible to gauge value from.

Good post sir.

At the core of Spain's reigning World Championship basketball squad are seven former, current or future NBA players (Marc Gasol and Rudy Fernandez will join the league this season).

But when the team was getting rocked by China in a preliminary game last Tuesday, on the verge of suffering a huge upset, the player who righted them and turned the game around was a skinny 17-year-old making his national team debut.

That kid was point guard Ricky Rubio.

The 6-3 Rubio finished with only one point, but his quickness and defensive mindset turned the game around as he harassed the Chinese guards into several turnovers, picked the pockets of NBA players Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian and threw Pau Gasol a perfect lob for a powerful, momentum-changing dunk. Rubio's relentless pressure shook up the Chinese backcourt into losing their flow and confidence.

I thought this clip was interesting ...

His stat-line against the USA was 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists, and 6 points. I think it was 20 some minutes played.

I agree ideally they should keep Rubio over Flynn, Rubio is clearly the better player in my mind, but I think Flynn is probably the better fit in Minnesota and Rubio has more trade value, so maybe dealing Rubio would be the smarter move.

Flynn for Fernandez would be a reasonable deal, but I don't see Portland moving for one of the Minnesota PG's to be honest. Portland has CAP space and could pursue Andre Miller or Kidd without giving up any of their young assets, or trade for a veteran like Hinrich, who wouldn't require giving up much since it's a salary move for the Bulls. Management has also said they don't want to add any more young guys, and Rubio especially wouldn't really be a great fit considering his age and how slow of pace the Blazers play at. Sergio Rodriguez had a very similar playing style to Rubio, although obviously not remotely as good, and McMillian hated him.

I'm not sure what you guys are expecting to get for Rubio though, you laugh at every potential deal mentioned.

I'd trade Rubio for Gordon and Jordan, that'd be automatic

Fernandez > Flynn at this point. Fernandez has proven himself and he's a valuable asset (6th man) for a team pushing for the ring.

Heh, Fernandez >>> Rubio in Spain when two seasons ago they played together. Fernandez has tons of potential, but McMillan uses him as a spot shooter off the ball (their offense runs entirely through BRoy) and I think any deal involving him would definately be a steal.

Anyway, TOP5 Assists in ACB (The top2 brought to you by Ricky Rubio):

Did you ever think that maybe the Wolves just don't want to trade Rubio? We're not expecting anything because we don't want anything for him.

Fernandez at the age of a college senior was way better than Rubio before he had pubes? What other amazing feats can you share...
