Amare to ATL for JSmith???

Post#1 » by MILFSTA » Sun Jun 28, 2009 11:40 pm

well this guy from espn forum says its real but could be fake lets wait and see....

I don't like to start rumors, but I just talked to someone and it appears the Amar'e to Golden State deal is off as they do NOT want to part with Curry or A Randolph. NOW, there is a deal with Atlanta in the works. My friend with the Suns(legal) is part of the negotiating team. I called him and he said "I'll call you back in a little bit, we have a possible trade with ATL and are pounding out the numbers".. i said "so the Warrior deal is off", he said" yep, we insisted on Randolph or Curry and they won't give up either at this time"

don't have any details ... except that Josh Smith is involved... but this is from a good source.

I wonder if an Atl trade makes more sense for Amare since he lives there or something in the summer?

Hmmmm

They don't have a lot of salaries to make it work do they? Really don't want Marvin Williams...Wouldn't mind Mo Evans as some perimeter D and athleticism. Zaza's a decent C who just needs minutes...I'd ask for a pick next year though for sure

ATL probably wouldn't go for it, but I'd see if we can get Smith and Teague, who I'm high on than most and I've also read the FO liked him too.

the guy came back and post it this

you're right on this. IT IS NOT.

Alright- sorry everyone. .. just got off the phone with him again. He says the deal IS NOT happening. They cannot make the numbers work. Now he says, Kerr got way ahead of himself on this one

...like I said before, teams are afraid of Amare and his eye right now until they see him play. Atlanta wasn't willing to deal what the Suns were looking for and still consider Amare "damaged goods". He doubts anything will happen now.

Sorry . shouldn't even have posted on this but it sounded good a couple of hours ago. Turns out the Suns were just getting ahead of themselves. .and so was I.

ok another deal is dead lol

Ugh

When the hell did the Suns board become a nightmare to look after? this is becoming mental

I've locked the other one, check your PMs dynomite

Last thing we need is an unproven ESPN insider having his link posted here

You'd think the Suns wouldn't want any part of Smith an an Amare deal. I mean didn't they have a great rebounding/streak shooting/unable to create his own shot/overrated defender SF that they said wasn't worth a max contract? Now their going to trade the franchise player for a younger version of him? Childress is no prize either. Outside Horford and JJ the Hawks don't have anything I'd want.

we shall see i guess.
as far as the reported deal, The Hawks got the better deal in my opinion if it is real and as stated. Smith is a freak athletically but no where close to as polished as Amare and doesn't demand teams gearing up to stop him, He's younger and has no injury history, a bit cheaper but not very mature from what i can sense which considering his age isnt shocking.

Wouldnt be thrilled but i still prefer it to the Warriors deal where it comes across that Nelson out maneuvered Kerr even if the Warrior deal had more talent coming back.

ESPN saying?????

As you know, Amare Stoudemire is on the trade block again. However, the Hawks seem to want to get in on this oppurtunity.

ESPN is saying that we are trying to trade Josh Smith and Randolf Morris to Phoenix for Amare and Robin Lopez. Howvever the trade is being held up by the addition of Robin Lopez.
In my opinion, we should add the rights to Josh Childress if we really want Lopez, or we should just take Lopez out of the deal.

On the Hawks, Amare would instanly make us contenders. He would give us some things we don't have now, and would be hard to stop offensively.

That Josh Smith and Josh Childress deal for Amare and Lopez is interesting ... However, I don't like the idea of giving up both of our remaining bigs for smaller guys. And yeah, Josh Smith is basically a younger and healthier version of Amare, but the key is healthier.

If Sarver does this he will also end up having to fire Kerr because this is a terrible trade and everyone knowws they are better of waiting until the trade deadline to trade him becaue the ofers are terrible and will only end up in Sarver having to fire his friend. This Alanta stuff is BS they may have talked but I can't see the SUns trading him there not after the disasterous Joe Johnson deal and the Suns also must realize just how much money they will loose if they do a trade witgh alanta. Sarver will be looking at an empty arena if he does this and so he can't be that stupid and if he is boy is he going to hurt next season. :wavefinger:

you HAVE to assume if we move Lopez AND Amare to ATL that we'd do the NOR deal for Chandler. there's No depth in that frontline

They are very alike: generally uncoachable, in love with their jump shot these days (except Amare can hit his),

However a few things to keep in mind:

1) Smith is locked up in a long-term deal worth half as much as Amare's soon-to-be max contract
2) Smith doesn't have much of an injury history

That'd be sweet. If they lock up that Chandler deal, then I'm all for this Josh Smith deal.

Return to Phoenix Suns
