I think that info was gleaned from an interview he gave during the season. I hate to say it, but I think he ends up in San Antonio if he doesn't resign with the Pistons. He'd start and he'd make them a much, much better team.

Here he'd be competing with Powe to back-up KG and not perfectly suited to backing up Perk.

There are few spots for guys who want a chance to win a ring and they all can't go to the same place. There will be guys who will be available to come to Boston.

Dyess hasn't been a starter for years, I can't see that being what drives him.

The reason he went back to DET last season had to do with moving his family from MI. If it is schools and nice neighborhoods I am sure he can make his wife happy in MASS.

My guess is that he is going to be looking for more than a one year commitment which he may not be finding in Boston.

I think we need a big guy for off the bench. Shaq, Ilgauskas and Dwight Howard would have an easy time with him.

I disagree that Ilgauskas would have an easy time with him, and the lion share of Shaq and Howard's minutes would be against Perk. Even if he had to play C, though, hasn't McDyess been the Piston's best interior player for the last few years? Sheed was the one often guarding KG, so Dyess had to be on Perk. Presumably, he's spent some time against the Shaq's and Howard's of the world so I don't think he'd be easy meat, especially as a back-up.

Ilgauskas is big for nothing, he is not a rebounder or low post offensive player. The other guys are starters and while Dyess is a good defensive player his rebounding and ability to score are equally important, Boston has the defense thing handled.
