Isn't Udrih untradeable?, LOL. With all the pgs that went in the 1st round i doubt there is a chance of trading Beno at least for this season.

Re: Rodriguez will be a King
Who the hell is going to take on beno. Everyone knows at best he is a bad contract and at worst he is the worst contract in the league. And so we traded for sergio rodriguez so we can trade him in another deal when he hasnt shown anything in his career? But with the horrible roster we have he will magically shine?
Come on people its time to see pertie is over the hill now and trying to grasp at straws and hope that something sticks to make him look like a genius. But to think beno can be traded and we traded for someone so low on the totem pole as rodriguez because petrie knew he would be sought after by other teams in a trade is crazy.

It always amazes me how those with closed minds always seem to be the ones to shout the loudest.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

hmmm ok but thta still doesnt answer WHO WILL TAKE BENO and his awful contract? There were a ton of pgs that went in the draft is there EVEN A TEAM that would need a point guard? Let alone a back up point guard that makes a lot.

There are some possibilities for minor salary dumps with teams like Memphis, New York, the Clippers. Getting a PG in the draft doesn't mean a given team couldn't still use a more experienced guy like Beno.
My solution would be to hope that Beno continues to play like he was at the end of the season. After the Miller/Salmons trade, his assist/TO went from horrible to very respectable. If he can keep that up and maintain solid scoring efficiency, his contract will definitely not be quite so bad at the deadline. If we can trade him for necessary depth at another position or for a salary dump of a couple of years, then it will be worth. And now with Rodriguez we can do that without having to worry about leaving the team in Tyreke's inexperienced hands.

Re: Rodriguez will be a King
Just see my other post in the other thread. NO one believes beno can be traded as a postive or even a neutral we will have to give up our first next year or kevin martin to dump beno's contract.
I WISH, WISH, WISH we could pawn beno off but he makes the mle for the next 4 years how can we dump that? teams drafted I think they said 17 guards in this draft NO ONE IS HURTING for guard let alone over paid guards like beno. I wish kings fans would realize were stuck with beno.

Bad contracts get moved all the time. Just look at guys like Jaric, Banks, Crawford, Diaw, Kapono--I mean those are a few just off the top of my head.
Things happen all the time. Draft picks don't work out, new acquisitions don't fit, contending teams suffer a key injury. Of course there is also the aspect that players get better. Beno is still pretty young and should be in the middle of his prime when his contract ends. He still has room to improve and he started to improve last year. He probably won't ever be worth his contract, but he can get a hell of a lot closer to that point.

Do you know exactly what benos contract is? Its a 4 year (now) mle for a point guard. Obviously he is a backup. So who please tell me will take on 4 ytears of overpaying at the mle of beno??

I ask you again to look at the contracts I just listed. Look at Diaw's contract versus his production when he was traded. Look at Radmonavic, Mohammed, Diop--those are just examples on one team! All of them have been traded at least once throughout the course of their very overpaid contracts. If you really want, I can list a ton of others. The point is that you can't look purely at situations now.
But as for some potential possibilities I could see, I don't know. The Knicks might think Beno can run their system better than Duhon. A Beno for Jeffries deal may be plausible. Memphis doesn't really have a backup. Beno for Jaric might be plausible. Those are just right now, and they're not that relevant to my point though--which is that things change that allow for seemingly immovable contracts to be moved.

Re: Rodriguez will be a King
All those guys I would take OVER beno.
Beno is due...
this year ..... 6 million dollars
next year .... 6.5 million dollars
the year after.... 7 million dollars
the year after... 8 million dollars
jaric.... this year.... 7 million
next year...... 7.5 million dollars
diop this year... 6 million
next year..... 6.5 million
the year after.... 7 million
the year after that.... 7.5 million
diaw... this year.... 9 million
next year..... 9 million
the year after... 9 million
The only deal I would say might be even is diop... But i would take diaw for 9 mil a year over the next 3 years. Because obviously this year it would suck and next year it would suck but in the third year it would be a big expiring.
So the only person you mention that might be on par for beno is diop. Thats IT. I guess you either dont know how much beno makes of for how long cuz the guys you mention all either make less or are more valuable.

It's all about priorities. Yes, Beno's deal is longer than Jaric's, but there's a trade off because Beno is a useful player and Jaric is crap. And more importantly I'm looking at these players at the time they were traded. Jaric had 3 years left on his deal at the time. That's one less year than Beno at slightly less money for a guy that is actually a bad player. Diop was on a very similar deal to Beno when he got traded, and that was even with him playing a mere 13MPG. At the time Diaw got traded, he had 4 years and 36million left on his deal and was putting up 8/4/2. Mohammed, if I'm not mistaken has been traded a couple of times over the course of his contract. He's paid a little less than Beno, but is pretty clearly a worse player. Radmonavic is in a similar boat, although he's better than Mohammed.
Jamal Crawford was traded to the Warriors with 3 years and about 28million left on his deal. He's more productive than Beno but that's also a lot more per year.
Dunleavy and Murphy were both traded to Indiana when both of their deals looked horrendous.
Zach Randolph has been traded twice within the span of his albatross contract. Sure he's seen as the better player than Beno, but he's paid more than double per year, and had four years left when he was traded to the Knicks. Not to mention that when he was traded, it was into a situation that didn't make any sense at all.
Mark Blount was traded to Minnesota initially when he still had 5 years left on his hideous contract. He got traded to Miami for the last 3 years. The value there is unquestionably worse than it is with Beno.
Brian Cardinal was traded with 2 years at the MLE left on his contract to essentially sit on the bench.
At the time Tyson Chandler got traded for expirings, his contract looked especially horrible.
Larry Hughes and Ben Wallace have been moved around with horrible contracts.
Our very own Kenny Thomas was traded to us with an eternity left on his overpaid contract.
Marcus Banks has been moved twice within the span of his horrible MLE deal.
Korver was traded with a less than flattering deal.
Mike James--3 times.
Is it really that unreasonable to expect that maybe a situation pops up for Beno within the next year? It might not happen. In fact it's very possible it doesn't. But it's certainly not out of the realm of possibilities and now we are equipped to deal with it if it does happen. Also, Beno's value will likely only go up as his contract gets shorter and he gets better.

Hi, I guess I'll read lot at this sub forum next season becasue if Sergio who is one of my faivorite palyers, and Casspi from my country.
Now I want just to comment about Diaw's cotract - it might be bad one before the trade, but he is playing excellent since that trade. He and Raja bell made a huge impact on the team and they almoust got to the playoff with a very weak roster.

That's a great explanation about BDS during this past decade.
