Good point. You are right Messina will make him a lot better.

Well Acording to Darryl Morey....
Sergio Llull is a point guard from Real Madrid. He’s sort of a combo guard who plays the one and the two. He’s a big guard. We saw him as the second-best international point guard in the draft. We were excited to get him when we got him and we see him as someone who can help out down the road.

Daryl Morey thinks Brooks is a point guard.

The problem is that NBA fans see ANY clips from ANY league or country in Europe and automatically assume it is a "Euroleague clip". Case in point, 99 percent of Rubio's highlights come from Spanish league games, not Euroleague games.

Do you know any good sites for euroleague videos, other than highlight clips.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euroleague ... l_Four_MVP

I remember hearing about several of those guys going over there.

Hmm. Well talkbasket.net and interbasket.net both have forum sections. If you go to their forums and go to the Euroleague sections they both have a Euroleague games thread. You can see links to games that are upcoming (this season is over though obviously) and also they have links to whole previous games.

Or you could register at either forum and just ask for some if you wanted Real games to watch. You could go to Spanish sites too but those boards I gave are in English and would be much easier for you.

He plays the point guard position. But so does Brooks. He's the same as Brooks. If you want to call him a point guard fine. But he's not, just like Brooks isn't.

I was wondering the same thing. From what I read in this thread, it sounds like he could be the best 2nd rounder foreign prospect the Rockets have ever gotten there hands on. Then again he could be a Spanish version of Luther Head.

Lull is way better than Luther Head.

Well Brooks is a scoring Point Guard. The only position he has ever played in his pro career is at PG. You can't call him a midget SG because he has never logged a single minute of his life as a shooting guard.

If you have zero point guard skills you are not a point guard. No one with basketball knowledge would call Brooks a point guard.

Actually Aaron, you are a very exciting, very talented, 5-10 shooting guard. You are played at point guard because you can't guard shooting guards due to size difference. You are a scorer, not a real point guard on offense.

You hear that, AB? You're not a "true" point guard. So thhbbppttt. Take that. Oh, and while I'm at it, Magic Johnson can suck it, too. He played every position on the court at one time or another. So he wasn't a true point guard, either.

That's how he got teh AIDS. Because he wasn't a "true" point guard.

FOCUS: KWSN, do you have a point to make? Or do you just want to sit in a dark corner and get dreamy-eyed at the memory of John Stockton?

P.S. - Bob Cousy can suck it, too - by your logic.

So can Calvin Murphy and Nate Archibald.

I go to UCF, and saw Jermaine play all the time

He is a terrific athlete. One of the best of the draft. Extremely quick and could get up to play above the rim on offense and defense

he also has a terrific long range jump shot. It is kind of a slow release, but he could make it. And since he is so explosive athletically, its a good mix that opens up a lot for him

those are the positives. The negatives are he has no in between game. He can not really create for himself because of it. For all of his athleticism, he was pretty much a fastbreak scorer and 3 pt shooter. He has no dribbling or in between skills to create for himself or others in the halfcourt. The good news there is hopefully in the NBA he wont need to create for himself. Even with these deficiencies, if he gets the ball in the right spot, he will score. He just needs someone to get him the ball in those spots

I see a solid scorer off the bench, who will be able to score in bunches. I dont really see an all star. If you want a comparison, I will give you a shorter Pietrus as my best comparison.

Actually, Calvin can suck it, as far as I'm concerned - but for non-basketball reasons.

Woah, buddy, I know you didn't just hint you know more about basketball than Morey.

Just some news. Llull finally was selected as the 12th player for the Spanish NT to play Eurobasket in Poland. Since there are 3 PGs in the NT -Rubio, Cabezas and Raúl López- his role in the team will be defensive SG according to the coach Sergio Scariolo replacing Berni Rodriguez in that role.
