I would really like the Nets to give

Post#1 » by BRIGGS » Mon Jun 29, 2009 4:18 pm

the starting PF position to Boone. I really want to see Lopez and Boone play 4-5. I think given a chance it would work out very well as long as the guards are willing passers. The defense would be MUCH improved. Im not a Net fan but I watch them all of the time. I think your GM has done a masterful job of trading your star type players at the right time. People can poo poo that trade but you got Courtney Lee who looked awesome in his first year and massive cap space as well.

Boone is a skinnier version of jason collins, horrible offense, clumsy, good defender. although we were succesful with collins on the team it was primarily because kidd was a genius. i dont like the idea of boone starting on this team. vanilla ice sucks too by the way.

I think Boone deserves more playing time than he got last year, but he's not a starter even on a bad team in my opinion. He can at least finish at the basket (unlike twin) but I really doesn't provide a great deal of things that would merit him starters minutes. Since we moved Ryan, Yi as inconsistant as he is I would say is our best PF. What I would like to do is see if we could get a decent guy for releatively cheap to light a fire under Sean Williams tail. A guy like Brandon Bass. That guy plays extremely physical and I think a 2 headed rotation of Yi and Bass at the PF spot would be pretty solid. Yi when a team has a softer rotation on the floor or if we need to stretch the defense. Bass if we need a banger on both ends of the court.

Sorry but putting Boone next to Lopez doesnt make sense.

Battie would start next to Lopez before Boone does.

Anyway, Swat would be a better fit to start over Boone.

Yea we need to get rid of Boone,Simmons and Hassel.I don't want these guys taking minutes away from our young players.Boone can stay as a backup.Never as a starter.Bobby is the one i'm worried about i think he's going to want more minutes and that could be a problem.

Frankly I think Boone will be the 5th or 6th big man on the team. He doesn't do anything well. Also following the trend we can expect his free throw shooting to be around 25% this year.

Very Under Rated Rebounder, he deserves to start. Yi has great potential but all he does is jack up shots. He has no self control.

I like, for a rebuilding NJ Net Squad:

Harris
Lee
CDR
Boone - I think he misses Marcus Willams ( they worked the p&r to perfection)

I just saw Boone 10 minutes ago in the Qdoba parking lot. Hes got a nice ass car that Ive seen for a while on route 17 that I always notice and tell my girl about haha. Now I know its Boone. Besides seeing Scalabrine at starbucks this was the only other time i seen a Net outside the arena. This was the Qdoba on 17 south in Hasbrouck Hieghts. This had nothing to do with the topic other than the fact it was Boone.

EDIT: sorry i lied, i also saw Mutumbo in atlantic city too but he was not a Net at the time.

I dont understand why people think Boone should start. He has always been a backup Center.

I drove down this during the weekend getting to GSP. There were at least 30 cars on 17 trying to get to the newly opened Sonic. Is it that good?

This one time I was at a Cold Stone Creamery on Route 9 and they had that charity thing where you pay a buck and sign your name on a heart and they put it on the wall. For some reason, I wrote "Brian Scalabrine #27" instead of my name. I went there like 2 weeks later and we were talking about Scalabrine in line and this couple in line turns to me and was like "Dude Scalabrine was here not to long ago. He signed a heart and stuff." The kid pointed at my heart. I didn't have the heart to tell him that was my forgery. He looks abnormally happy, I couldn't break the kids heart.

^^^^^^^lol messed up.I was at a Nets game this year bashing Boone hard for missing free throws when the kid next to me told me Boone's mom and family was sitting in the row in front of us a couple seats over.I looked over and she was grillin me hard lol(she looks exactly like him).I felt bad so whenever he grabbed a rebound i cheered for him loud. Its funny when he gets booed cuz its sounds like the crowd is sayin BOOOOOOONNE!!!!! This is probably the last thread will see for Boone in a while so i figured it was a good time to share this.

ps I've been tryin to get into Sonic's to but that cop never lets me in cuz its always full WTF
