Yao goes Down

Terrible loss for the NBA community. Guy was an incredible player and I hoped he would eventually get healthy enough to do some damage in the West. Alas..good luck Rocket fans, wish you the best.

Definitely a big load of suck for what seemed like a classy organization, and for a classy guy.

yeah it's so unfair how some amazing players get raped by injuries and some scrubs somehow last 15 years and play for 15 teams....hello Jim Jackson

good luck HOU, maybe they make some moves to shore it up

Yeah, that sucks. As a basketball fan, I hope he recovers.

Its not fair how this happens to the game's true good guys.
Grant Hill lost literally seasons in the prime of his career to injuries, and it's a testament to his will and determination that he's even playing today.

Yao has been nothing but class since he came into the league. He deserves better.

It's all china's fault, making him play in the olympics with injuries! The dude was a great player and a class act! He'll be missed!!!

Truly tragic. Especially for him and his family, even more so than for the fans and NBA

Yea...people in China still think he should continue to bust his butt for the National Team at stupid qualifying tourneys and give up summer after summer to the team. Whenever I say Yao should concentrate on himself and the NBA team that had invested so much money on him, they look at me like are you crazy this is for our country :/

Sucks for him and Houston. Most of us dont understand, but his country is what pushed him over the limit. He never should have played and a man that big playing this sport needs to take off summers to at least be somewhat healthy.

Nice guy yes.

However, he has been hurt more than Amare.

I never really liked Yao Ming as a player and the Rockets

but he does seem like a genuinely nice person and this really sucks :(

hope he can eventually come back

there's only 1 other team with the worse luck in the league than PHX and that's the HOU Rockets.
