Rumor: Rasheed Wallace to Boston

Post#1 » by Celts17Pride » Mon Jun 29, 2009 11:09 pm

FWIW:

Gary Tanguay on ComCast Sportnet just said that through his sources Rasheed is on his way to Boston. More tonight a 10:00 p.m. Should get interesting in the next few days. I thought for sure he was going to SA. We'll see.

Sorry, just posted the same thing. I heard it to, although I hardly believe him.

No big deal. Maybe they will merge the two threads.

I don't put too much stock in Tanguay and his sources, but I hope this is true.

Isn't a few days before contract negotiations can even start? I think Tanguay has been fooled.

Come July 1st they better hurry up and sign him before he figures out that the Rockets need a starting center.

at this point this is something I feel we NEED.

ORL upgrade from Turkeyglue to Carter.

CLE upgrade from Wallace to Shaq.

get Wallace and that puts us right back up there.

And if Marbs doesn't sign off for cheap with a team that added Sheed he's **** insane.

THIS WOULD BE SUCH HUGE NEWS! If... if... if.... stupid Tangway... for some reason I just can't picture him breaking any kind of news on basketball.

People are already talking. That's why everyone knows Charlie V is going to Cleveland.

I really... really hope this is true, i think sheed is a huge X factor for next season

not only would getting him be huge for us, having a real back up for perk, defense, shooting.. everything we need basically, but it would stop orlando, cleveland and san antonio, who already have improved from doing so any more

This wouldn't excite me much as Rasheed is not a top choice of mine. But we could obviously do much, much worse. Rasheed >>>>>>>>> Dahntay Jones...

Wallace guards Howard real well so that would be a plus. I just don't like his offense.

If this is true it would be great. Rasheed really fills the need for a solid tall 4/5 vet. Plus he can stretch the opposing defense with his range. I hope this happens.

Man..this would be pretty sweet...I didn't see Sheed coming to Boston at all. If this happens, I'm pretty sure Eddie stays, and if we resign Baby and Marbury, than pull off a trade for a decent SG/SF(Dahntay Jones would be fine IMO) we are locked and LOADED.... :)
Big GT better not be talking out of his ass here...

If Sheed comes here, you can bet he is starting. I don't see him settling for bench in Boston, when he can start in San Antonio.

I don't think so. Those are just rumors. No discussions can take place, if for instance Cleveland had negotiated with Charlie V, they'd be losing a few draft picks. As was said in another thread, the Villanueva rumor is from a comment he made about the Shaq trade on his twitter account. Players like Lebron and KG may have contacted other guys to get a feel for things, but the NBA doesn't allow negotiations to start before the 1st.

I just saw the replay.

Tanguay said, "It looks like he'll be a member of the Celtics."

Felger asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Tanguay replied, "I'll leave it at that," then something like: Trust me.

I believe the rule is you can talk to free agents but you can't discuss money and contract details. This happens every year. When people sign deals on July 1 do you think they negotiated in a few hours?
