Etan Thomas!

Post#1 » by jade_hippo » Mon Jun 29, 2009 11:52 pm

who thinks he will be a solid addition to the team. I think he can fill the roll the Ervin Johnson had filled during the good Sam/Spree year. Really I don't see how he cannot succeed here. All he has to do is stand between the basket and his player and he'll be one of the best centers in T'Wolves history. Any thoughts or ideas?

Who cares? We're going to suck next year and then he's going to be gone.

If he got 25 minutes a night I could see him putting up 6-7 and 8.

I think we can put a HOF year in ink.

I played with a lot of #5-to-MIN trades, and they all included Etan. The reason was that he was such a better fit in MIN.

In WAS, he got in fistfights with Haywood, and stood in the way of minutes for their talented young big men. In MIN, while he's not talented, he'll hustle on defense and throw his body around. That's not such a bad trait next to Al. I figured we'd get a little use out of him, and his expiring deal fits our 2010 cap space plan. I'm happy to have him, and hope he can contribute a little when he gets his chances.

Thomas will be the best center MN has ever had(if you don't count Jefferson)

much better than watching brian cardinal or kevin love defend centers for 20 mins a night.
He's got more left in the tank than collins, that's for sure.

one can hope flynn, a healthy brewer, and possibly rubio make al/love look less horrible on d, but i'm not really sold.

I was just looking up Etan Thomas on teh internets and found out he is a poet. Now we have someone filling the void left by McCants' departure.

Jefferson is a Center, love it or hate it. He's no Stoiko Vrankovic, but he's a Center, for now--probably until we trade him or Love, since they're both starters by default.

Etan will be a good solid (big) body off the bench, and then an expiring. Who could ask for more!

Forgot about Shaddy's penchant (and undeniable talent) for the written word... we are truly blessed... and the fact that he is a fightn' poet (in the tradition of all the great Irish poets - plus he's a Thomas as well (Dylan) - LOVE IT!!!) just seals the deal...

I guess he's better than a kick in the nuts. I am more curious about Oily to be honest... But worst case - we will have a C by commitee (which i can live with - Thomas, Jeff, Oily...)...

EDIT: Dylan Thomas was Welsh - well they are an ornery lot as well, right???

"Stewie" Pecherov.

I wonder if he'll throw some "sexy parties".
Or if Glen will sell advertising space on his forehead as he warms the bench all year.

well Ervin Johnson made KG look even better on defense... i don't see why Thomas can't make Al/Love look a million times better.

Okay buddy, we must be thinking of two different Etan Thomas'. Obviously you are the one who doesn't know what you're talking about. Thomas has averaged 6pts over his career so far and he's not even 50 yet.
