So far...
-Traded Shaq for salary cap space, even though it may come across as bad I look at it like this, even if he waited it out and let Marion walk the Suns would still have been stuck with Marcus Bank's insane contract but he dumped that in the process clearing about 5M in salary. So I give him credit on the Shaq trade
-Drafted Earl Clark who very well could be the second best player in the 2009 draft
-Drafted Taylor Griffin a guy who wasn't even going to be drafted...
Now it's time to wait and see what he trades Amare for...

Personally, I haven't found any of his moves too terrible, except the drafting of Robin Lopez. The ultimate test will be how he handles the Amare situation, though.

His job would've been a lot easier if our last GM didn't sell good players we drafted and draft picks...

Rolo was more porter's idea by the way. It was Porter who lobbied for lopez

--- Good point. Lopez is Porter's and Taylor Griffin is the pick Kerr invoked "executive privilege" to draft.

Diaw and Bell for Richardson and Dudley isn't looking too good right about now.
I would trust him to be a mildly entertaining analyst.

Re: I would trust Steve Kerr to...
Personally I don't think drafting T. Griffin is too bad of a pick, I personally think they should have taken Patty Mills, then with the last pick take Griffin because he would have still been available for sure, but I think he will surprise people if he sticks around. I've been looking at videos of him and he is pretty athletic, he has good leaping ability which is always nice when we have a guy like Nash on the team. But his major was zoology, and thats just weird...

No, the ultimate test was the Marion/Shaq trade. He said himself that if the trade didn't work, then he's a moron. And well....

Marion's production was very up-and-down and he'd disappear for games here and there. Plus, he was a malcontent. Shaq's production was very consistent and I honestly think the reason he didn't work out was more player resistance and a coaching change.
And sorry, yes there are two moves I really don't like from Kerr:
- Hiring Terry Porter
- Giving away Kurt Thomas and our 2010 pick
But the Shaq/Marion trade, the J. Rich trade, and this year's draft, I have no problems with.

Re: I would trust Steve Kerr to...
How could you not have a problem with it when those are the moves along with Porter and the Thomas trade that took us from one of being one one of the top teams to a lottery team?
Marion, as malcontent as he was, was a perfect fit for our system. Especially in the form of his defense. We can't begin to say how badly we've missed that.
Shaq, as consistant as his production was, was a terrible fit. Most notably in his lack of pick and roll defense alongside Nash. But also in that a paint clogger is not something that really meshes well with our Run and Gun players.

Sorry ... just didn't have a problem with those moves. I guess we'll just have to disagree.
