I wholeheartedly agree 100% with everything said Bill.

Perk / Sheed / (vet. min.)
KG / Scal / Powe
Pierce / (LLE - Hill?) / Walker
Ray / Eddie / Giddens / Hudson / TA
Rondo / Steph / Pruitt

A couple players will have to go but hopefully we can package these players in a deal to get another contributer like you said.

bosFcelts, I think we'd be real thin at PF unless you basically want a 3 man rotation for the 4 and 5 between 'Sheed, KG, and Perk.

Scal had a great playoff, but I still think the useless scal we all hated is closer to the real scal, then the productive scal we saw in the playoffs. I dont hate the guy nearly as much now, but I am also not ready to hand him serious rotation minutes. Powe's injury is big if we dont resign baby.

I guess you could roll with Perk, Sheed and KG 30 minutes each for 90 minutes at the 4/5 spots with the remaining 6 minutes minutes going to the 'vet min' you have at C on the depth chart and Scal.

When Powe comes back you give him those 6 minutes and scale it up based on his play and based on if the other guys need more rest.

For the right price, I'll take him because of his famliarity with the system and his generally solid defense. All we need a decent backup minutes, not a star.

Yes pretty much my thinking.
Perk 32 / Sheed 16
KG 32 / Sheed 8 / Scal 8

then once Powe is back, insert Powe instead of Scal and increase minutes accordingly.

I don't see why we can't do 32 min each of Perk, KG, and Sheed. Then pick up a vet to fill in some big man mins for foul trouble, etc (Oberto?), and have Scal be the 5th string big. Or if the team is convinced Powe will return next season, forget signing a vet big man, and play Scal as 4th string until Powe returns.

If Boston can sign him for the type of deal that BfB described, then it's an no-brainer to re-sign him. He did everything that was asked of him both on and off the floor last year, and is deserving of another year with the team to show what he can do with a full training camp under his belt. I have no doubt that his marksmanship will show great improvement under these circumstances, which was his only on-floor weakness this past season. The second unit had appreciably better ball movement and spacing when Marbury was at the point, compared to Eddie running the show. I think it's also significant that Steph didn't get to play a single minute with his old sidekick in Minny. Playing alongside KG for a title run was the reason Marbury chose to come to Boston. The chance eluded him last season due to the vagaries of Garnett's knee, so I'm quite sure he would like the opportunity to make a run with everybody healthy (hopefully!) next season.

^ I would also like to see Steph and KG on the court together. If they could re-ignite their chemistry, they could be a lot of fun to watch.

A lineup of
Sheed
KG
Paul
Eddie
Steph... could be crazy.

Steph and Eddie had immediate chemistry. Pick n pop with Steph and Garnett. Pierce as a slasher for KG to find in the high post. Sheed waiting up top for open three's. Great madness!

I am not really convinced with Marbury last year but I would welcome him back. I know KG requires a good passer/shooter around him.
