Villanueva?
Do we have any interest? I think he'd be a nice pickup...then trade steven hunter's expiring
try and resign everyone and just add charlie v. I think we can run with anyone with that squad

Re: Villanueva?
AS I said in the offseason thread, he is a guy I would target with the TPE and a trade of Hunter 4 bell as the incentive for the Bucks. He fits well enough for what we need in a backup PF.

but i have a feeling he'll bolt to Cleveland.
any thoughts on Channing Frye?
showed alot of potential in NY but kinda got lost in Portland...

Re: Villanueva?
I like Villanueva but i dont really no much about him other than he is a big man that can score. I ve never really paid so much attention to him but from what ive heard he is a very productive big man who has quite a bit of confidence which is a great quality to have. Frye on the other hand will give you correct me if i am mistaking less range and muscle inside. idk the reason i feel he lost his spot in portland is becuase he was inconsistant and didnt seem to play so much defense.

Frye was never the same after his knee injury in New York, don't know if it is a head thing, or if he really screwed it up, but most seem to think it is just a head problem.

Sounds like you called it with the Nuggets according to CBS sports (which I do not know how reliable they are at this point, Denver is after Frye
http://ken-berger.blogs.cbssports.com/m ... _blogs_NBA
The Nuggets also have long coveted Wallace, who nearly went to Denver before the team acquired Kenyon Martin in 2004. But according to a person familiar with the discussions, the Nuggets were meeting with Portland restricted free agent Channing Frye as the clock struck midnight ET. Nobody does more with less than the Nuggets, who would benefit from Frye’s pick-and-pop ability without breaking the bank.

Really hope the Nuggets are making a play with the Bucks for CV and Bell though, unless what was said was true about them not having his Bird Rights anymore in the other thread.

Re: Villanueva?
If they can get the Frye that was in New York, and not the one who struggled in Portland I would be more then happy if the Nuggets add him as a backup PF, especially considering he will come very cheap.
As for CV and Bell, if the Pistons are after him and Gordon we me not really have a shot. Bell by himself though is probably available from the Bucks, I do not think they are done restructuring their roster. And Bogut may be out for much of next season due to his back, so they may want to tank this year.

Re: Villanueva?
from the wire looks like CV to Pistons now...i really thought he'd go Cavs.
but yea, back to Channing Frye, 18 months ago we'd all be losing it to get him.
i've always loved his game, just thought he needed the right system to thrive in (see Trevor Ariza)
i'd LOVE to see him on our roster...
Balk & Frye with JR, Bird and Ty would be.........fun

I'll agree there. The rookie year Frye, 47% and 12/5.8 in 24 minutes would be nice.
Guess I would still be interested in just Bell. CV coming to Denver was most likely just a dream, since I think he'd want to go to a team he could start for anyway.

Re: Villanueva?
i'll take the title of 'crazy nuggets fan' here.
i prefer frye over CV.
also..
why no talk of Matt Barnes? (unatainable?)
i think he'd fit in perfect here as a Kleiza replacemnt

This team has bigger priorities then a back up SF. Barnes while being a solid player will want a contract similar to Kleiza's and I think most of us would rather that money be spent on a big and a guard.

definitely with you on the bigger priorities (esp the big)...i was just thinking with not much talk going on about Barnes we may have been able to talk about snagging him, or at least mention him ha.
dude can be deadly......and he LOOKS like a nugz type of guy when he plays (no, not the tats)..the confidence.
