Bruce Bowen... if waived... TK count?

Post#1 » by bgwizarfan » Tue Jun 30, 2009 7:39 pm

As we've discussed already...Bowen's trade kicker made his 09-10 Salary jump from $4,000,000 to $4,100,000. His 09-10 season is only $2,000,000 guarnateed. I was just wondering if that jump in Trade Kicker salary also would jump his guarantee. LIke if he was waived today, would the amount he'd count against the cap be $2,000,000 still or $2,100,000? My guess is $2,000,000 but I have no reference where it would come from.

The trade kicker is spread evenly over the amount of guaranteed salary, so it'd be $2.1 mil.

This is my understanding as well, Sham.

Speaking of which, Amir Johnson's 09-10 cap number should be $3,941,667 rather than the $4,216,667 that you list on your site. It looks like you added the entire TK to his 09-10 salary rather than splitting it among 08-09 and 09-10.

I am 90% sure on this, but this is one particular topic where I tend to 2nd guess myself, so if someone else could ease my mind with some confirmation here, that would be appreciated.

I got a way to defend it. Bring a bat to the game and kill one of them."

That would appear to have been exactly what I've done. Bit of a headfreak there. Will tidy it up.

As the late, great Ed McMahon used to say, "You are correct sir."
