I think that is relative to the situation. Gordon on a team desperate for offense might have a higher value than to a team that is elite in scoring. I don't think Gordon's ever been overrated or underrated. Perhaps underappreciated is the word.

If Gordon @ 11 million is being overrated, I wonder how that compares to the rest of our roster over the past few years (Wallace, Chandler, Hinrich, and Deng).

Why don't you be really useful and do that with Bosh and James?

I was on the internet once when the Bulls and Lakers were playing in the finals. Someone asked what the score was, stating it was probably in the fourth quarter now.

Some woman replied, well I'm on the west coast, so here the game is probably over by now.

Here's transactions from last year so you can see how Free Agency unfolded in July to get a little bit of the feeling on how things could go this year... and of course something to look at to pass the time till free agency starts.

Immediately. You know damn good and well that Bull Shak is hiding in Gordon's hall closet as we speak.

If not, what if Detroit doesn't offer anything yet and we offer $9mil a year and BG accepts it - will he be considered underrated by Bulls fans? all other teams fans?

Just wondering where you draw the line?

I think $11mil is the max you could pay him and have him not become overrated. I think that's about equal value for him. At $9mil, I wouldn't call him underrated, but he is still on a good contract.

1. Bulls agree to terms or resign Gordon
2. Bulls trade Hinrich to the Blazers for 1 or both of Blake/Outlaw (immediately waived) & possible future lottery protected 1st.

Well that sucks. It'll be a crime if we keep Hinrich and his "defense" over Gordon. Bulls don't need Hinrich's D, Salmons fills the big SG role. And we don't need significant backup PG minutes from Kirk, Ben will do just fine there at about 8 mpg.

Of course, my first preference is for JR to pay the tax but if that's not an option, I don't see losing Gordon because of Hinrich's albatross as an option either. As soon as we drafted Derrick, it was over for elf lookin boy. Trade Kirk NOW

Rumor is Boozer will likely opt-in to his contract for next year. Now I know Pax has this whole fiasco with the Boozer-Jim Paxson situation, but how could we not go for a deal such as the following:

Portland Gets:
Hinrich

Utah Gets:
Blake
Outlaw

Bulls Get:
Boozer

Portland: Gets the PG/SG they've coveted (I'm sure Blazers fans will be in here before we know it. Yeah I know Outlaw is untouchable).

Utah:
Cap Savings. They can decline the options of Blake/Outlaw. They need to stay under the tax to resign Milsap, who I think we'll see in OKC.

Chicago: Get a 1 year rental (post-option). Hinrich is prolly on his way out and we could deal Tyrus Thomas to Portland or Utah to bascially keep us from taking back an extra $3 million in salary for this upcoming year. Resign Gordon as is and just pay the damn tax for 1 year.

Gordon/Salmons
Salmons/Deng
Boozer/Noah

We can appreciate him, but he's not going to Detroit, he's staying a Bull.

Broussard seems to think Ben is staying. Just said it on Sports Center. I hope he's right!
