The Jennings Video

Post#1 » by KM44 » Tue Jun 30, 2009 8:53 pm

Sooo, I saw the little story on wiretap and decided to check it out. It's absolutely hilarious!! The guy is an IDIOT for letting something like this happen. I said it earlier that he is like another Stephon Marbury, and that was based off of what I have seen in interviews and through articles, but this is some proof that he's set himself up for failure.

There is A LOT of questionable language in the video, so I don't think I'm allowed to put the link, but I thought it might be discussion worthy that we got lucky and passed up on such a little a-hole.

i feel kind of offended by your comment, calling marbury an idiot. he was and still is one of my favorite players in the NBA. Him and KG were a tandem, no one could mess with. Marbury has made some very bad choices over his career, but has also been put in bad situations.

Jennings is a great player, but his personality is set way over his game, as a rookie.

Yeah, I never cared for him, and this just affirms that.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

I apologize about that. I am just not high on athletes squandering their star-power to wreak havoc. That might have been an unfair comparison to Marbury, but the point is Jennings is now destined for a similar label for the rest of his career.

Jennings is such a tool

Boo hoo that he didn't wind up in NY. If anything he could have at least waited until he was about 20 games into the season and then complained about the decision. Granted, he would have had to been playing really well to make such bold remarks - but now he will be against the grain from here on out to back his talk.

I'm rooting for him to fail now
can we just get a new arena already...

For these reasons I'm rooting for Jennings to succeed.

Had Jennings been able to go to college (just a note Kevin Garnett didn't receive a qualifying ACT/SAT score either and we don't refer to him as dumb!) I don't think there would be so much negative attention surrounding him. My case and point:

Milwaukee
Picks: Brandon Jennings (10), Jodie Meeks (41)
Del Grande: D, “Collegiate objector joins team that's already raised white flag on 2009-10 season.”

Brandon Jennings shoots from the hip! He's stupid for letting it air out, but I absolutely love the rebellion and f* the world attitude he brings to the table. I don't like PC pre programmed answers that athletes give. I HATE LISTENING TO KOBE BRYANT. He says a bunch of Cliche's and it's really dumb! Anyhow we know where Jennings is coming from. He thinks he's better than Rubio, and he thought he was a good fit in NYC. I like the fact we know something about the guy.

He needs to learn he can't win ANY media battle and the media isn't his friend or ally.

Brandon Jennings is destined to be the point guard version of Ron Artest.

Dude is seriously over arrogant, Im not saying that I want him to be a failure, I just dont want another Ron Artest/Stephon Marbury type. I hate seeing this stuff on ESPN everyday

Actually, he was talking about JENNINGS. He said Jennings is an idiot for letting this happen. (which kinda he is)
He said that Jennings is LIKE another Marbury. (and his attitude shows it)

That being said, he is right though. The knicks ARE weak, and have been since EVER. lol
Its just the penalty for not being "PC" on camera. Though keep in mind, you ARE still a rookie...

I have to say that I am rather surprised to hear this from you. i normally respect you for your mature take and attitude here in the face of a lot of inappropriate behaviors by all kinds of athletes.

I'll go to the other side.

I'm sick and tired of young punks ruining the game I love. I deal with this on the pick-up court and in league, then I have to turn on the TV or computer and see some overprivledged young punk spout off about his own greatness and impact on the WORLD (let alone the game).

Somehow they never seem to get that long after they are gone and an afterthought, the game will still go on. At least be somewhat humble and appreciative of not only your god-given talent, but the opportunities that have been created for you by those who have come before you. Show some slight modicum of respect.

And for the record, Marbury IS an idiot for acting like a jackass and throwing away his chance to really be remembered for the RIGHT reasons (his talent and ability) rather than the wrong (his punk ass attitude and disruptiveness to team chemistry everywhere he goes).

I saw the entire video, and while I agree it was stupid for Jennings to say the things he said, he had no idea that the conversation was being recorded. How would you feel if one day, you were really frustrated about your job, so you called up your friend and vented about your boss and co-workers...only to find out that your friend recorded the entire conversation and played it in front of everyone?

Give Jennings a break.

Looked like a normal conversation to me.
He didn't say anything crazy like Steph does.

You mean to tell me if I had a private conversation with Dwight Howard about Shaq he's say all the right PC things? No! Granted the Rubio incident Jennings knew the cameras were rolling and he went there. These incidents were private moments made public. Yes Yes Yes athletes or celebrity figures should get this and act accordingly, but really have you had ill feelings for being passed up for a job? Have you ever felt a non qualified person got a job that someone else should have got? If the answer is no your world is perfect.

Jennings feels that he was wronged. I appreciate as an NBA fan knowing about the players. Am I condoning it...nah not really, but I'm not making it out to be a crime and wanting to persecute a 19 year old kid for telling us as fans what he believes in his opinion.

Before we say Marbury was the problem can you name one relevant teamate he had besides Kevin Garnett in his career without a wikipedia assist?

Back top Jennings.

I'm not at all applauding his rants, but rather putting them in a different perspective. I don't want to hear "Oh yeah we played hard, we competed, and we were fortunate to come out on top" as an interview. I don't! That's a weak interview. I want an opinion. We got his opinion (on which I neither agree or disagree with).
