Say we sign Sheed and resign Marbury....

Post#1 » by snowman » Wed Jul 1, 2009 12:19 am

Then what? I've heard alot about Grant Hill, but from everything I've read he wants to stay with the Suns. Do we have a backup plan for a backup 3?

I was wondering this too once I started reading about how PHX would like to keep him. Your guess would be as good as mine but I'm more then sure the team is going to watch Walker during the SL and see how that goes. Might influence there decision somewhat but its too early to tell.

We can wait out the off-season and see if guys like Barnes, Moon, Parker, Graham, Udoka, etc. want to come here for cheap. If not, see if Walker progressed enough to be our backup 3. If that's doesn't work out, dangle our expirings in Scal/TA/Giddens + House (if necessary) in a trade for maybe a Nocioni or somebody else.

I'm betting on HIll......I just hope Tom Thib doesn't sign on to coach Detroit now--I don't think Danny signed him yet.

If we can lock up Sheed and Marbury, I would love to add one of Hill, Barnes or Moon. I really like Moon's game. He gave PP fits a few games I saw him play the C's and he's a very athletic player. I think if we can lock up those two, we should see some interest from these 3 players. It's the only major hole we have in our lineup and any of those 3 would be excellent fits for us.

Over the Hill can stay with the Suns. I'd rather sign someone who didn't miraculously get cured once he got on a great team. The guys a douche. He was on the bench more then Doc was in Orlando.

Hill is certainly not a douche. He is a great guy. I would love to have him here...

He's at least a sh*tsandwich. I think he's too old anyways to fit our system. A guy like Tayshaun Prince would be perfect off the bench.

If we had Sheed Marbury and Barnes coming off the bench, we would easily have the most insane 2nd unit in the history of universe. TATTOOS and TECHS!

Maybe we could trade Scal's expiring for Bruce Bowen and maybe throw in a 2nd rounder. Bowen's contract expires next year aswell.

Bowen is old and doesn't exactly give us starter minutes, but he can knock down the 3, play some defense and play well in the playoffs.

What the? Please. Hill is a stand up guy. It seems rather immature to throw kiddie insults at him, what if he ends up in Boston? Is he still a douche or will he suddenly be your new sig?

Hes showed he can still run and maintain his fitness, score very efficiently, and force turnovers. His injuries appear to be ancient history. He had a bunch of games with 4+ steals so even though his steals/game avg was merely decent, he can bust out on occasion.

Another point, however relevant, is although Hill had his injury troubles and missed a big chunk of several seasons, all that time off the court resulted in less wear and tear on his legs. You could argue that his legs are younger than most other players his age. Its worth considering, and obviously on the pro level its little factors like that which come into play during player evaluations.

It would be a big +1 for Danny if he can pull Hill.

I usually don't agree with anything you say. Now I can't even respect what you say. Grant Hill is one of the classiest guys in the league.

Grant Hill must have faked that staph infection that almost killed him because his team wasn't winning without him, right?

Who would think Grant Hill was a douche?? He's up there with Ray Allen classy.

I would love to get him but c'mon, is he really going to accept the LLE? He can get way more than that. Somebody will at least give him more than half the MLE.

Not so sure. He's played for the LLE for the last two years. I can't see him getting more in this market..

Wow Cfan. Calling Grant Hill names now? Hill is a class act. The injuries were out of his control and he has worked hard to be able to get to the point where he can play a whole season and be a contributing player. He plays for cheap and a limited roll, far from a ****, how many "next MJ" players work would take such a roll and be happy. He has no ego and is a class act. You really have no idea what you are talking about. I wish you would take the picture of Russell off your name. I see that picture and think of someone insightful and wise and then I read your posts which are anything but.

cfan's comments are similar to ones made by some ignorant sports talk radio host in Orlando. Doc Rivers called into that show and gave them ****, saying that Grant Hill was not faking anything, and that he was trying to do everything in his power to get healthy again. This is the reason why I think Hill will come up to the Cs - his relationship with Doc is one of mutual respect.
