Definitely need a center. Would have been the ideal backup. Not sure how he would fair as a starter...but we do need the front court help in the worst way.

Marcin Gortat to the Rockets would be great. Far more effective, efficient, and inexpensive than Eddy Curry. You guys are way better off signing Gortat or McDyess (off-season home in Houston).

Sent one off. If Gorat is at the top of Morey's FA list then he's at the top of mine.

I realize Ming may miss a year or worse but is Gortat really the best option. I have a few names for you who showed signs then got a contract and then Sucked. I think he is a good prospect but GM's need to be careful not to go overboard to get him.

Does a team really want to commit to him and have him be the next Jerome James or worse yet Jim McIlvaine or maybe worse Jon koncak. I could be totally wrong but it's something to think about.

Very different than Jerome James, who was an utter garbage player except for one year.

I can't say it makes Houston a contending team though.

Is this where I come in and say, I have said we should do this previously? (Check other posts of mine) It took me seeing him play one game, to make that decision. In the Playoffs, we have proven that we don't have to have one player shoot 35-40 pts to win. with great team play, you have two in the mid twenties and two in high teens making the scoring output. Gortat would only need to post figures of maybe 10pts, 8 boards, a couple of assists and a block or two. he can get up and down the court, (We maintain High Tempo.) Von Von steps up, to legit Sixth man award consideration, and we make Ron Ron, and Scola the focal point on offense.

I hope that our new Rooks can step up and make an impact from the get go, and we roll towards the finals next season.

I have to say it again. I told everyone about Gortat!!!!! Nya Nya Nya!

Is Gortat really that good or is he a bum? Whats with all the hype about with him? Would we better off with him or Birdman? Anderson brings the shotblocking that we are missing without Yao & Deke. Actually, he is on the other side of 30. I didnt realize that. I trust Morey will make the right move.

I think I read somewhere that Gortat was only 25. Given consistent time, he is capable of putting up some quality numbers. Remember in the playoffs when Dwight was suspended against Philly Gortat had something like 12 and 15.

If we sign Gortat he would be our second Polish center after Maciej Lampe (who is actually a year younger that Marcin)
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

If the rumors are true, Gortat will be a great pick up for the Rockets. There is a good chance Yao will be out for the first few months of the season and the Rockets can do a lot worse than having Gortat start at center. And when Yao comes back, Gortat can move to the bench and give them a legit backup center. As some people have said, when D-Howard was out, Gortat filled in very nicely. He won't be dropping 20 a game like Yao, but he'll give rebounding, big body to bang and some dunks.

Orlando can still match any offer for Gortat...great pickup tho if we land him.
